Foreword
The text of the Intemational Standard EC 60364-5-52:2008, prepared by IEC TCO4, Electrical
installations and protection agains! electric shock, together with common modifications prepared by the
Technical Commitice CENELEC TC 64, Electrical inatallatians and protection against elesinc shock. was
submitted to the formal vos end was appraved by GENELEG os HD 60364-§-52 on 2011-01-24,
This European Standard supersedes HD 384.5 52 S1:1695 + A1-1998 and HO 384.5 29 S2:2001
The main changes with respect to HD 384.5.52'S1:1895 + A1-1998 are as follows:
— Subclause $21.4 introduces: minor changes with regan to busbar trunking systems and powertack
systems,
— Subslause §236 introduces minor changes with regard to the sizing of cables whore harmonic
currents are present.
— Anew sublause 523.9 conceming singlé-core cables with metallic covering has been introduced
~ Clause 525 intraduces changes in the maximum value of wakage drop permited between the origin of
the consumer's installation anc the equipment which should not be greater than that given in the
relevant annex,
— Giause 526 introduces minor changes to electrical connections including additional exceptions for
inspection of connections and additional notes,
— Clause $28 intraducas additional requirements with regard to proximity of underground power and
telecommunication cables
— Clause 52 introduces minor changes 0 sélection and erection of wining systems in relation to

Boxes and enclosures for accessories, e.g. connecting boxes for housing
terminals, sockel-outiets or svilches shail vomply with the requirements of
EN60870.
Boxes and enclosures intended to be installed in concrete or in haflow walls,
shall have the following markings according to EN 60870-1 on the boxes and
enclosures or provided by the manufacturer on the smallest package unit or in
the instructions of the manufacturer

for use in hollow walls: symbol H.
GP-enclosures according to EN 80670-24 (under preparation) are not allowed
