Interview question
What are your top 3 skills? and why?
I would say my top 3 skills are:
1st High communication skills, because even on my daily basis I look for a way to solve
matters by communicating needs and getting to a beneficent resolution for both parts.
2nd Responsible: I think my work ethic is something that I have always honored, and I
always try to do my best, so this work ethic won’t let me settle for less than my best every
time and in every aspect of my life, including work.
3rd Empathetic: I have never had any trouble recognizing that my reality is not the same
reality for everyone else, so I don't try to impose my ideas on other people but try to
understand different points of view and acknowledge that even if I don't agree with them,
they're valid.
What awesome project have you done or worked on that you're the proudest of?
Definitely the project I've worked on that I'm the proudest of is the jewelry store that I
created last year in the middle of the pandemic, it was a small business created for a
specific purpose that it was fundraising for homeless people here in my city, specifically for
Christmas time. I really had a great time helping people and having a little business on my
own even for a short time.
Why would a company pick to work with you instead of other people? What do you
believe is a special trait or skill you offer to businesses that others might not?
I think I have many qualities such as a good personality and the soft skills that are required
for this job, I am a team player, collaborator, clear communicator and I have a sense of
humor. Also, I've been following this company for a while now and I know you're looking
for someone who can take ownership of this role and I would love the opportunity to share
all my skills with the team.
What professional activity are you the strongest/most experienced in?
I would say dancing, I used to dance in an academy, so we performed at several events here
in my city. We trained a lot for each presentation that we had, so I really became good at it,
I would say at a professional level.
What professional activity are you the least experienced in?
I would say activities that involve public speaking. That has been one of my greatest
weaknesses, however, I've been working on it for a long time now, and I really can say I've
improved a lot on it.
Why are you interested in this kind of job? What is your motivation?
I really love connecting with people and having the opportunity to solve customer
problems, especially when it involves an internal process, so that's why I'm really excited
about this position.
What are you most interested in learning during this job?
I'm really interested in growth and this role would be an exciting opportunity for it and
along with being able to use my writing skills, I would hope to learn how to do it in a better
way while working here. Being able to work for a company that encourages its employees
to grow has always been a dream of mine, which is exactly why I applied here.
What are your professional short-term goals (1-2 years) and your long terms goals (2-
5 years)?
My focus for the next 1-2 years is to really understand the specifics of the role and become
a subject matter expert. Then, for 2-3 years after that, I want to gain more responsibility and
lead some projects. I'm really passionate about the industry, especially where it's headed,
and I see this company as being the perfect fit in terms of allowing me to develop my
expertise and contribute to the company's goals.
Describe in detail your favorite thing to do when you are not working.
In my spare time, I absolutely love learning a little bit more about psychology, I find that
science really fascinating. I absolutely love watching documentaries or reading about
psychology. I've liked it since I was a kid and I really enjoy getting to know how the human
brain and its emotions work.
Why did you leave your last job?
The company and I were moving in different speeds and although I really liked the
company, I felt like I wasn’t really challenged enough in my last role. But ultimately, I’m
happy because it led me to be able to pursue a role here.
Tell me about a time you showed leadership
Tell me about a time you were successful on a team
What would your co-workers say about you?
Describe your most challenging project
Can you explain your employment gap?
The gap in my employment is because I went travelling it was something Id wanted to do
for a long time and although travelling the world was fun, I gained so much more from it, I
got to experience different cultures, languages, ideas and ways of living. And all of this
experiences. // I spend some time as the primary caretaker in my family during that time I
was able to be there for my family but I always knew I wanted to return to work. // I was
able to take some time off work to focus on myself, it was a time that prepared me to take
on new challenges, I’m incredibly excited about the opportunities that lie ahead like this
position. This not only made me a better person but it also gave me so much more in terms
of skills that I can bring to the workplace. I’ve now finished my time off and I’m ready to
commit to the role.
Tell me about a time you had to manage conflicting priorities
Describe your leadership style
Since I understand everyone has a different working style, I find it important to be able to
adjust my working/ leadership style when I’m collaborating with others. However, when I
work by myself, I find that I am quite logical and detail-oriented.
Tell me about a time you failed or made a mistake
Tell me about a time you worked with a difficult person
Definitely, I’m super extroverted, my last project I was paired up with someone who was
more of an independent worker, that was definitely an adjustment for me because they were
quieter and I didn’t know how to deal with that at first. I just talked with them about what
my work style is compared to their work style. At the end we came to an understanding to
how we could better communicate and better understand each other. // With one of my co-
workers I was waiting on him for a deliverable and unfortunately, he was late on that
deadline. I asked him what happened on his end, he explained a few things that were
happening in his personal life and I explained that while I totally understood that, all I
needed was for him to let me know. From that point forward we actually were on way
better terms because we found some common ground. Even though you might not get along
with someone on a personal level, you can always get the job done in a professional setting.
Tell me about a time you had to persuade someone
Tell me about a time you disagreed with someone
I was fortunate to have a really great mentor and boss, and we didn’t disagree that often,
but when we did, we had a relationship based on a really great rapport and feedbacks,
where I felt that I could approach them, always privately, never in front of a group, and step
through what I thought a potential outcome could be, and at the same time asking for their
opinion and seeing if they could see my point of view.
Tell me about a time you created a goal and achieved it
Tell me about a time you surpassed people´s expectations
Tell me about a time you had to handle pressure
I handled stress and pressure by remaining calm, by being positive, by planning and
organizing my work based on the needs of the team, and by looking ahead to see what
potential problems could occur. I also try to use stress as a motivator to get things done
quickly and to help me improve, grow and develop. Finally, I handle stress and pressure by
being as healthy as I can be by exercising and by practicing mindfulness whenever I am in
challenging situations.
Tell me about a time you had to learn something quickly
