Guidelines and Mechanics for Mr. and Ms.

Intramurals 2023
I. ELIGIBILITY:
1) Candidates must be currently enrolled students of the institution.
2) Candidates must not be married, but they are eligible if they have children.
3) Candidates must have good academic standing and no pending disciplinary actions.
4) Candidates must demonstrate good moral character.
II. REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES (BY DEPARTMENT):
1) The Department must submit their official candidates’ name and contact number within the specified
deadline.
2) A selection committee will review the candidates’ background and conduct interviews to ensure
eligibility and suitability.
3) The final candidates will be announced after the selection process.
4) The Department shall abide by the rules and regulation set by the overall chairperson of the Pageant
together with the Pageant Committee and the Production Team.
5) The Hair and Make-up Team for each of the Department shall abide to the rules and regulation set by
the Production Manager of the Production Team with the approval of the Overall Chairperson of the
Pageant together with the Pageant Committee.
6) The candidates for each of the Department shall abide to the rules and regulation set by the
Production Manager of the Production Team with the approval of the Overall Chairperson of the
Pageant together with the Pageant Committee.

III. COMPETITION SEGMENTS:


The Mr. and Ms. Intramurals competition will consist of the following segments:
A. BEST IN PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION ATTIRE:
Candidates will showcase their creativity and stage presence through a production number. Criteria for
judging in this segment include creativity, stage presence, and adherence to the theme.
B. BEST IN SPORTS ATTIRE:
Candidates will model sports attire that reflects their department sports assigned to them. This was done
through a meeting with all the coaches, officers in-charge, and department representative. Attire should
be tasteful and appropriate for a sports event. Criteria for judging include poise, confidence, and how
well the attire represents sportsmanship.
C. BEST IN SPORTS MIMETICS:
Candidates will demonstrate their knowledge of various sports through mimetics (mimicry). They will
showcase their understanding of sports rules, gestures, and behavior. This segment does not involve any
props of the assigned sports. This segment should only highlight the movements, the gestures, and
proper execution of the sports assigned. Criteria for judging include accuracy, creativity, and
entertainment value.

D. BEST IN INTERVIEW:
Candidates will participate in a structured interview. The interview may cover topics related to sports,
academics, personal achievements, and advocacy. Criteria for judging include communication skills,
knowledge, and the ability to articulate thoughts clearly.

IV. SCORING AND JUDGING CRITERIA:


Each segment will be judged separately, and scores will be recorded for each candidate. Judges should be
impartial and should not have any conflicts of interest with the candidates. Judges' decisions are final and
not subject to appeal.
V. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING FOR EACH SEGMENTS
a. Best in Production and Production Attire:
Creativity

Originality, uniqueness, and creativity in the performance
and attire.
Stage Presence

Confidence, charisma, and the ability to engage the
audience.
Adherence to Theme
How well the performance and the candidate bear then 20
attire align with the theme or concept.
Overall Impact
The overall impact of the production number, including 30
entertainment value and audience engagement.

Poise and Confidence

sports attire.

c. Best in Sports Mimetics:

d. Best in Interview:
Communication Skills

The candidates with the highest combined scores will be awarded the titles of Mr. and Ms.
Intramurals. Certificates, crowns and recognition will be given to the winners. The winners may be
invited to represent the institution in external events and competitions.
