PITOT/STATIC SYSTEM - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION 1. General (Figure 1 and Figure 2) Clectrically o the air data instruments, the electronic fight inctrument system (see Chapter 34, ELECTRONIC FLIGHT INSTRUMENT SYSTEM), and the landing gear warning system (see Chapter 32, ELECTRICAL INDICATING SYSTEM). Provision is made at the ‘computers for the connection of various additional special order equipment, Apart from the pitostatic supplies to the ADCs, direct supplies are also Piped to the standby ASI, standby altimeter, stall detector and the cabin differential pressure ‘gauge. Connections are also provided for ‘additional equipment. Pitot and static pressures are provided by two pitot heads and four static vent plates respectively. Two wing vents provide stall identification system pressure. Water drains are provided in the system pipelines, A. Pitot heads The pitot heads, mounted one on each side of the {fuselage nose are electrically heated, and provide independent pressure supplies to the folowing: Loft pitot head (P1) ‘No.1 air data computer only. t pitot head (P2) No.2 air data computer, standby ASI, stall detector and additional equipment conneetions, B. Static vent plates. Static 5 Air data computer No.1. Static 6 Air data computer No.2 and stall detector. Static 8 Standby ASI, standby altimeter. Static 9 Cabin differential pressure gauge and additional equipment connestions. NOTE: There are no static sources numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 or 7. C. Ancillary equipment isolation AFITOT ISOLATION valve is located on the right side console, This control provides a means of (Solating the pitot supply o the connections for additonal equipment and the son detector. Each vent is connected by a pipeline, through a water trap and drain, to a 3-way junction and then to a stall detector by way of a further drain trap, - Stall identification Pitot, static and stall vent pressures are supplied from the right-hand pitot head, static 6 system and Stall vents respectively, to a capsule-operated stall detector. When the aircraft approaches the stall Condition, the detector operates to activate the third channel of the stall identification system.
