LAPTOP

BENEFITS

o Laptops are an excellent choice for people who need a portable device that can be used for various
tasks. They offer many advantages, including portability, convenience, improved Performance,
battery life, and ergonomics.

PARTS

o Camera/Web Camera- Can be used for taking pictures or for use during video calls using programs
such as Skype or Google Hangouts.
o Keyboard- It is most common input device used to provide commands or data to the laptop or
computer.
o Base panel- The base panel provides installation place for laptop parts which include mother board,
RAM, hard drive, cooling fan, battery, CD drive etc.
o Touchpad- The touchpad or trackpad uses tactile sensor on specialized surface.
o Top panel- The top panel provides installation place and support for laptop screen.
o Screen- It functions like monitor used in desktop PC. It is known as output device as it is used to
display output to the user in desired format.
o Optical drive- Laptop optical drives can read/write CDs, DVDs or Blu-Ray discs. These drives allow
reading and recording of data at very high speeds.

RISK

Computer Vision Syndrome- Eye and vision-related problems can develop when you stare at a computer
screen for hours at a time. Symptoms of CVS include neck pain, headaches, eye fatigue and visual
discomfort.

Myopia- Known as nearsightedness, myopia causes distant objects to appear blurry, while objects close
up are seen clearly.

Risk of placing laptop on your lap:

Decreased fertility- laptop’s radiation may affect the male reproductive organ when it is used near the
testes because it may destroy the DNA of sperm cells. For females, on the other hand, the production of
egg cell may be delayed. Experts also warned pregnant women against using laptops near their
reproductive organ.

Cancer risk- Scientists believe that constant use of laptop on your lap may increase one’s risk of having
testicular or ovarian cancer. Aside from this, carrying a hot laptop on your lap may damage your skin and
this might even develop to skin cancer, according to researchers Dr. Andreas Arnold and Dr. Peter Itin.

Neck and back pain- Bending over while using your laptop can lead to neck and back problems.

Mess up your sleep- Your computer screen has a cold artificial light that affects the release of melatonin,
which helps regulate sleep patterns. It is suggested that when it is almost time for bed, instead of using a
laptop, one should read a book or magazine to help them doze off.
RICE COOKER

BENEFITS

o #1 advantage: You don’t have to stand by it: the rice cooker automatically switches to the keep-
warm function when the rice is cooked. So you don’t have to constantly stand by it, something that is
a big disadvantage when you cook the rice in a pan.
o #2 advantage: the warming function: With the warming function, the rice stays at temperature. This
allows you to serve the rice even at a later time. After the rice is cooked, the rice cooker
automatically jumps to the keep warm function.
o #3 advantage: very easy operation: You can hardly go wrong with a rice cooker. The controls consist
of two buttons: the boil and warm setting. So a rice cooker is easy for anyone to understand.
o #4 advantage: never burnt rice again: Are you one of those people who regularly lets the rice burn?
This is a waste of rice and not really safe. With a rice cooker this will never happen to you again,
because the rice cooker automatically switches to the keep-warm mode when the rice is cooked.
o #5 advantage: (always) perfectly cooked rice: The rice cooker makes it easy to cook rice to
perfection, provided you get the ratio of water to rice right.
o #6 advantage: very easy cleaning: Thanks to the non-stick coating in the inner pan, a rice cooker is
very easy to clean.

PARTS

Steam Release- is part of the rice cooker which functions to release steam from cooking in the inner pot.

Float Valve- is part of the rice cooker which functions to regulate the opening or closing of the steam
release.

Lid Fin- is part of the rice cooker which functions as a secondary key to the lid which is located on the left
and right sides.

Inner Pot- is a pot that is used as a container for cooking rice. In the inner pot, mix rice and water
according to the amount you needed.

Heating elements- are an important part of a rice cooker. Because this part is what functions to provide
heat energy to the inner pot, so that the cooking process occurs.

Exterior Pot- has a function of receiving heat from the heating element which will then be channeled to
the inner pot through the conduction process.

Lid Fin Slot- is part of a rice cooker with a home function or a container for the lid fin to enter and exit.
Lid fin slots are attached to the cooker handle.

Cooker Housing- is part of the rice cooker as a place for attaching other parts such as the heating
element, exterior and inner pan and so on. Cooker housing is a heat-resistant insulating material, usually
made of plastic or polymer.

Spoon Shelf- is a part of a rice cooker that functions as a storage area for spoons or scoops.

Base and Heating Unit- is the bottom part of the rice cooker as well as the housing for the heating
element.
Control Panel- is part of the rice cooker in the form of a cooking temperature display, a sign between
cooking and heating, and a button to adjust the operating conditions of the rice cooker whether to use it
for heating or cooking rice.

Control Box- is part of the rice cooker as the home of the control panel.

Cooker Handle- is part of the rice cooker which functions as a handle to make it easier to move the rice
cooker from one place to another.

Lid Position Mark- is part of the rice cooker with the function of indicating whether the lid is closed or
open.

Lid- is part of a rice cooker with a function as a cover for the inner pot. The goal is that heat is absorbed
more optimally and is not wasted into the environment.

Lid Handle- is the part of the rice cooker that functions as a handle when opening or closing the lid.

Power Cable- is a crucial part of a rice cooker because it acts as a conduit for electrical power from the
source into the rice cooker.

Condensation Collector- is part of the rice cooker which functions to collect water vapor that is
condensed on the inner lid, so it doesn’t drip onto the rice. (This section is usually located at the back of
the rice cooker body.)

RISK

o In some cases, the lack of water can cause the rice cooker to overheat or malfunction.
