Rules Governing Some Special Weapons

M202a2 multi-shot flame weapon 66mm

For all intents and purposes, this weapon will be a cross between a rocket
and a flamethrower. The rules governing the chance to hit and penetration are
detailed in chart MLDES-1. Although ineffective against reactive armor the M202a2
will penetrate up to 4 inches of metal plating. The 66mm shell is not designed to
penetrate reactive armor, therefore, if a “successful penetration” result is
determined, then use the “non-penetrating” missile effects table. Damage modifier is
26 b.i.p. and +200 to vehicles as based on the 40mm military weaponry data in the
Top Secret Companion. The rate for this weapon will be 1/5 as per the information
from Jane’s. The launcher is resuable and has the ammo capacity for four(4)
incendiary 66mm shells. Encounter Rate: Rare.

AAI (CAWS) 12 ga. Flechette (8)

Range modifiers will be treated as a shotgun. Damage is
based on the information in the Top Secret Companion for
flechette rounds and shotgun shell size. The (8) in the name
denotes the number of flechette projectiles in the shell. Each
shell is rolled on the injury determination chart not each
flechette. Damage from one shell is determined in the
following manner:
Flechette damage for the 12 ga. shell is +12 as taken
from the 12 ga. 1-2 buckshot damage on Table 47 Slug and
Buckshot Ammunition Modifiers on page 37 from the T.S. Companion. Add the +12 to an injury and then
divide the total damage by two. Flechettes are designed to go through Kevlar. Flechette ammo also gives the
shooter a +10% chance to hit. This weapon cannot fire standard 12 gauge shells unless fitted with an adapter
(Cost $100). This weapon also may use the optional shotgun spread chart. Encounter Rate: Prototype-Very Rare.

AAI (ACR) Advance Combat Rifle 5.56mm Flechette

This wepon is one of the new breed of Assault Rifles
being developed for the U.S.Army. Recoil modifiers do
apply to this weapon. Flechette ammo adds +10 to the
shooter’s chance to hit. Also flechette damage is figured
as per Table 46 Bullet Ammo Injury Modifiers in the
5.56mm caliber column. Early on the weapon had used a
5.56mm caseless ammo but this has been discontinued (as per the 1991 article on the 21st. Century Assault
Rifles in the November 1991 issue of Guns & Ammo). If any of these weapons are in the hands of agents, treat
them the same way as the flechette AAI ACR except to use the standard 5.56mm bullet damage modifier.
Flechettes in 5.56mm do not tumble. Encounter Rate: Very Rare- Prototype.

Steyr (ACR) Advanced Combat Rifle 5.56mm Flechette

This weapon will be treated the same as the AAI ACR.

Encounter Rate: Rare.

M19 SPIW .22 Flechette

This weapon will be treated the same as the AAI ACR and the
Steyr ACR. Encounter Rate: Rare.

Crossfire MK Shotgun/Rifle combo

This weapon is a civilian available item intended for use for

hunting. The shotgun part of the weapon is a 12 gauge with
various choke sizes available. The rifle part of the combo is a .
223 (5.56mm) size bullet. There is a selector lever that allows
the switching between either the shotgun or rifle. The reloading
action is a pump-action, whether you use the rifle or shotgun.
The following is a quote from www.janes.com regarding this weapon. “The rifle portion of the Crossfire MK-1
is fed from a standard AR-15/M16 magazine or a five-round AR-15 type magazine. The shotgun is fed from a
four-round detachable tubular magazine that forms the comb of the butt-stock. The two firearms share a single
receiver and trigger mechanism together with the operating slide. The rifle or shotgun can be selected by
moving a three-position switch on the left-hand side of the receiver. The top position selects the shotgun, the
centre position is safe, while the lowest position selects the rifle. The two firearms cannot be operated by a
single pull of the trigger. The rifle will operate with any 5.56 × 45mm cartridge, including M193 and SS109,
while the shotgun accommodates all shotgun cartridges up to 76mm (3in Magnum). The shotgun barrel
incorporates Invector screw-in choke tubes.” This weapon is classified in the “Other Weapon” category and the
information on the Gun List is divided by a slash (/) and that indicates what the PWV, Range modifiers, and
ammo is for each portion of the weapon. The shotgun statistics are listed before the slash in each instance. Note:
The range modifier for Medium is –90 for the shotgun, but you still have to divide the range in two categories
for shotguns. For Medium range (51-150 feet) the Crossfire MK shotgun has a –45 adjustment. For Medium
range (151-300 feet) the shotgun has a –90 adjustment. Encounter Rate: Average.

Magnum Biggest Finest Revolver (BFR)-Revolver/Shotgun Duo

This weapon is from Magnum Research Inc., creator of the famed Desert
Eagle semiautomatic. Magnum Research set out to create their first revolver
and the BFR is the result. The weapon actually comes in an amazing
assortment of calibers and several different barrel lengths. The focus of this
entry is on the revolver/shotgun duo version. The BFR fires both 2 ½ & 3 inch
.410 shotgun shells of all types (i.e. birdshot, buckshot, and slugs). The same model also fires the .45 Long Colt

Revised: 1/3/2010 Page 2 of 5 pages

which is a longer size than the typical .45 ACP. The BFR does NOT allow for a mix and match load of both .
45 Long Colt and .410 shotgun shells due to the presence of a choke tube that must be removed in certain firing
situations depending on the type of shells loaded. This weapon is classified in the “Other Weapon” category on
the Gun List. Statistics on the gun list are separated by a slash (/) to separate the range modifiers for using either
the .410 shotgun ammo (comes before the slash) or the .45 Long Colt ammo (after the slash). No PWV
adjustment is necessary since both types of ammo are fired in the same manner and down the same barrel. Note:
This weapon can not be used to hit anything at medium range when using shotgun shells therefore the medium
range is “X” for any shotgun ammo. For damage when using shotgun ammo, use the “Sawed Off Shotgun
Damage” chart. Encounter Rate: Average.

Taurus Model 4510 “The Judge”-Revolver/Shotgun Duo

This weapon was originally designed as a hunting weapon of small game such as rabbits
and snakes. However, the nickname came about as Taurus learned that judges were
carrying the weapon into the courtroom for self-defense. The weapon fires 2 ½ inch .410
shotgun shells of all types (i.e. birdshot, buckshot, and slugs) and .45 Long Colt. The
standard shotgun shell is 3 inches and many of the .45 caliber weapons shoot .45 ACP
which is smaller than the .45 Long Colt. Two barrel sizes are currently available 3” & 6
½”. Both .45 shells and .410 shells can be alternated in the cylinder. This weapon is primarily designed for
short distances. This weapon is classified in the “Other Weapon” category on the Gun List. Statistics on the gun
list are separated by a slash (/) to separate the range modifiers for using either the .410 shotgun ammo (comes
before the slash) or the .45 Long Colt ammo (after the slash). No PWV adjustment is necessary since both types
of ammo are fired in the same manner and down the same barrel. Note: This weapon can not be used to hit
anything at medium range when using shotgun shells therefore the medium range is “X” for any shotgun ammo.
For damage when using shotgun ammo, use the “Sawed Off Shotgun Damage” chart. Encounter Rate: Average.

Stealth Airrow Gun

This weapon is basically a high-tech air gun

system. Arrows are propelled by compressed air or CO2.
A free-floating barrel allows for better accuracy. Can be
used above and below the water since it is waterproof.
Shown with a case that allows the weapon to be
disassembled and stored with room to store additional
bolts. No special rules other than to treat the bolt like a
harpoon. Encounter Rate: Average.

Russian RPO-A Flame Weapon

The RPO fires a projectile that produces a flame thrower-like
effect on impact. It is a disposable shell and has a very large
backblast. The caliber of the shell is 93mm. Rules governing the
chance to hit are included in chart MLDES-1. Ineffective against
reactive armor, however it can penetrate light armor up to 2 inches
(doesn’t say that in article, however, I am basically treating it similar
to the penetration abilities of the M202A2). If hit by the blast of the
RPO, an unprotected person suffers 30 points of damage and will be
on fire for 2 minutes. This info is taken from page 61 of the Top Secret Companion from the Flamethrower
