Project Title: A Clean and Green Project: Recycling of Plastic Bottles for a Little Communal
Garden

III. Target Clients: Households of Brgy. Airport, Mandurriao, Iloilo City

IV. Project Duration (Date/No. of Hours): 2-4 months

VI. Rationale:

Recycling is essential for maintaining a clean environment and local communities. People
lessen the influence on nature by employing recycled materials to create new products. It doesn't
hurt that recycling the correct kinds of products might also earn people a little extra cash. Because
many of the items we recycle may be quickly transformed into virgin materials, recycling helps us
conserve a lot of energy. It also conserves a lot of resources. Recycling also lessens the
environmental strain. People in the world produce fewer greenhouse gases and oxides as a result
of the energy conservation efforts.

The primary reason for this proposal is that recycling is not widely practiced in Brgy.
Airport, Mandurriao. This problem is seriously affecting the cleanliness of the community, as
many recyclable garbage, specifically plastic bottles, can be seen spreading throughout the area.
People in the community do not recycle, so the use and efficiency of these recyclable materials are
not appreciated.

The primary goal of this project is to encourage and plan for everyone to recycle these
plastic bottles, which can be used in a variety of ways just like, a flower pot or a fence for a little
communal garden. Recycling plastic bottles helps to keep the community clean, reduces waste
production, and saves and protects a household's economy.
VII. Project Description:

-Plastic bottles(1.5L) from every household must be put in the recycle bin located beside the
barangay hall every weekend morning by the households of the Brgy. Airport, Mandurriao.

-Plastic bottles will be brought to the area where it will be cleaned and washed by the volunteers
to get rid of any labels or remaining residue. Target volunteers/participants will be 20 persons.

- Plastic bottles will be painted and decorated so that they will be appealing to the eye and
contribute to the beautification of the communal garden.

-Clean plastic bottles will be transformed into flower pots and a fence for the little communal
garden behind the barangay hall.

-The 1.5-liter plastic bottles will not be trash; instead, these bottles will be used for something
useful.

VIII. Objectives:

1. To increase awareness among individuals and the general public about environmental
issues, particularly the advantages of reducing, reusing, and recycling things that might
otherwise be dumped in landfills.

2. To lessen the demand for new materials to make plastic products while lowering the high
levels of plastic pollution.

3. To protect resources and prevent plastic from ending up in landfills or unanticipated places
like local drainage systems.

4. To effectively represent and promote community recycling.

gathered from the volunteers.
