Verbal Reasoning – Seating Arrangement
1.P, Q, R, S, T, V, W and Z are sitting around a circular table facing the centre but
not necessarily in the same order. S is Second to the right of P. P is second to the
right of V. R is second to the left of V and third to the right of Q. W is not an
immediate neighbor of V. Z is second to the right of T.

2.A, B, C, D, E, F and G are seven members of a club. Each of them has a different
profession, viz. Lawyers Teacher, Architect, CA, Engineer,Doctor and Scientist.
Each of them has a different favourite sport (likes) viz. Lawn Tennis, Table
Tennis, Badminton, Snooker, Volleyball, Basketball and Carrom. The individuals,
the professions and the sports given above are not necessarily in the same order.B's
favourite sport is Lawn Tennis and he is not a CA, D is the Architect and he does
not like Basketball. The Doctor's
favourite sport is Carrom. The Teacher's favourite sport is Volleyball. E is the
Scientist. C, the Lawyer, likes Badminton. A likes Table Tennis. F's favourite sport
is Volleyball

3.K, L, C, E, H, T and P are sitting around a circular table facing the centre but not
necessarily in the same order. T is third to the right of H. L is fourth to the left of P.
P is to the immediate right of H. C is fourth to the right of E.E is not an immediate
neighbor of T.

4.A, B, C, D, E, F and G are sitting around a circle facing the centre, not
necessarily in the same order. D is not second to the left of F but D is second to the
right of A. C is third to the right of A and C is second to the left of G. B is not an
immediate neighbor of G.

5.A, B, C, D, F, G and H are Seven football players each playing for a different
team - Green , Red and Blue with at least two of them in each of these teams. Each
of them likes a fruit - Apple, Guava, Banana, Orange, Mango, Papaya and
Watermelon not necessarily in the same order. B plays with F in team blue and he
likes mango. None of those who play for either team Red or team Green likes
either Guava or Banana. D plays with only the one who likes Watermelon. G likes
Papaya and he plays in team Red. The one who likes Orange does not play in team
Red. H likes Watermelon and he plays for team Green. A likes Apple and he plays
for team Red. C does not like Guava.
6.P, Q, R, S, T, V and W are travelling in three buses A, B and C with at least two
of them in any of these buses. Each of them has a favorite (likes) cuisine viz.
Punjabi, Rajasthani, Bengali, Maharashtrian, Gujarati, Kashmiri and Udipi not
necessarily in the same order. Q is travelling in bus B with T. T's favourite cuisine
is Udipi. Those who travel in bus A do not like Punjabi and Maharashtrian
cuisines. The one who likes Rajasthani cuisine travels only with W in bus C. The
one whose favourite cuisine is Gujarati does not travel in the same bus with either
Tor W. P does not travel in bus B. P likes
Kashmiri cuisine. S and V are travelling in the same bus. V does not like Bengali
cuisine. The one whose favourite cuisine is Maharashtrian does not travel in Bus B.

7.P, Q, A, B, D, R and F are sitting around a circular table facing the centre. R is
not second to the left of D and D is not an immediate neighbor of B. A is third to
the right of F. B is second to the left of F. Q is not an immediate neighbour of B or
F.

8. P, Q, R, S, T, V and W study in Standard IV, V and VI with at least two in any


of these Standards. Each one of them has a favorite (likes) color, viz. black, red,
yellow, green, white, blue, and pink not necessarily in the same order.Q likes
yellow and does not study in Standard VI. The one who likes black studies in the
same Standard as T. R likes blue and studies in the same Standard as W. S studies
in Standard V only with the one who likes pink. W does not study either in
Standard V or VI. V does not like black. W does not like either green or white. S
does not like green. T does not like pink

9.P, Q, R, S, T and M are six students of a school, one each studies in Class I - VI.
Each of them has a favorite colour from Red, Black, Blue, Yellow, Pink and Green
not necessarily in the same order.Q likes black and does not study in Class IV or
V. The one who studies in class IV does not like Green. P studies in class II. M
likes blue and does not study in class IV. The one who likes Yellow studies in class
VI. S likes Pink and studies in Class I. R does not study in class VI.

10.Eight friends A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting around a circle facing the


centre, not necessarily in the same order. F sits fourth to the left of B. A and H are
immediate neighbours of F. C sits third to the left of A. G sits third to the right of
E.

11.Seven friends - L, M, N, O, P, Q and R are sitting in a straight line facing north,


not necessarily in the same order. M sits fifth to the right of O. P sits third to the
right of L. Both L and P do not sit at the extreme ends of the line. Q and R are
immediate neighbours of each other. N sits third to the left of Q.

12.J, K, L, M, N, O, P and Q are sitting around a circular table facing the centre but
not necessarily in the same order. O is immediate neighbor of both K and Q. Only
one person sits between K and J. L and M are neighbors but are not immediate
neighbours of Q. Two persons sit between M and P. P does not sit to the immediate
right of K.

13.H, J, K, L, M and P are sitting in a straight line (not necessarily in the same
order) facing North.
i. H sits third to the left of P.
ii. P does not sit at an extreme end of the line.
iii. Only one person sits between M and K.
iv. K is not an immediate neighbor of H.
v. J is not an immediate neighbor of H or M.
vi. J is sitting at one of the extreme end

14. Nine friends, P, Q, R, S,T, W, X, Y and Z are sitting in a circle, facing the
centre but not necessarily in the same order. X is to immediate right of R. T is to
immediate right of P. W is fifth to right of X. Only One person is sitting between P
and Q. Q is an immediate neighbor of T. S is second to right of R. Y is a
immediate neighbour of W.

15.Eight friends A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are sitting in a straight line facing the


North not necessarily in the same order. D is second to right of F, G is second to
the right of C. C is second to the right of D. D is fifth to left of H. B is not an
immediate neighbour of either For G. A is not an immediate neighbour of C.
16.Six lectures are scheduled in a week starting from Monday and ending on
Sunday of the same week. Computer science is not in Tuesday or Saturday.
Psychology is immediately after organisational behavior. Statistics is not on Friday
and there is one day gap between statistics and research methods. One day prior to
the schedule of economics there is no lecture (as that day is the off' day and
Monday is not the off day). Statistics is on Wednesday.

17.Among six persons -- K, L, M, N,O and P each lives on a different floor of a


building having six floors numbered one to six (the ground floor is numbered 1, the
floor above it is numbered 2 and so on and the topmost floor is numbered 6).L
lives on an even numbered floor, L lives on a floor immediately below K's floor. P
lives on a floor immediately above N's floor. P lives on an even numbered floor. O
lives on floor number 3.

18.Eight people - S, T, U, V, W,X, Y, and Z- are sitting around a circle


but not necessarily in the same order. Two of them S and T are facing towards the
centre while other people are facing towards the outside. Y sits second to the left of
W. S sits second to the left of Y. Only one person sits between S and Z. T sits to
the immediate right of S. T is not an immediate neighbour of Y. V is not an
immediate neighbour of Y. Both the immediate neighbours of X face towards the
outside.

19.Ten persons are sitting in two parallel rows containing five persons each, in
such a way that there is an equal distance between adjacent persons. In Row-1, T,
U, V, W and X are seated and all of them are facing north. In Row - 2, E, F, G, H
and I are seated and all of them are facing south. Therefore, in the given seating
arrangement each member seated in a row faces another member of the other row.
T is sitting second to the left of V. The person who faces V is third to the left of F,.
W is sitting second to the right of X, I is sitting between H and E, T faces E, X
does not face I. U is at the extreme left end of the row.

20.Ten people are sitting in two parallel rows having five people each, in such a
way that there is an equal distance between adjacent persons. In row 1-V,W, X, Y
and Z are seated (but not necessarily in the same order) and all of them are facing
North. In row - 2 F, G, H, I and J are seated and all of them are facing south.
Therefore, in the given seating arrangement, each member seated in a row faces
another member of the other row.

B, C, D and E are seated and all of them are facing north, but not necessarily in the
same order. In Row - 2, P, Q, R, S and Tare seated and all of them are facing south,
but not necessarily in the same order. Therefore, in the given seating arrangement
each member seated in a row faces one member of the other row. Only two persons
sit to the left of C, Q faces one of the immediate neighbours of C, R sits to the
immediate left of Q. Only one person sits between R and T. The person who faces
T sits to the immediate left of B. Only two persons sit between B and D. The
person who faces D is an immediate neighbour of P, E is not an immediate
neighbour of D. T is not Sitting at an extreme end.

22.Eight friends - L, M, N, O, P, Q,R and S-are sitting around a circular table


facing the centre but not necessarily in the same order. Four friends stay in
Mumbai while other four stay in Delhi. No two friends from Mumbai are
immediate neighbours of each other. O stays in Mumbai. O is sitting third to the
right of R. P stays in Mumbai. P is sitting second to the left of Q. only one person
sits between P and S. L is not an immediate neighbour of S. As many friends sit
between L and N as there are between L and R.

23.Eight persons are sitting in two parallel rows, containing four persons in such a
way that there is an equal distance between adjacent persons. In row-1, M, N, O
and P are seated and all of them are facing north (but not necessarily in the same
order ) and in row-2, W, X, Y and Z are seated and all facing south (but not
necessarily in the same order). Thus in the given arrangement each person seated
in a row faces another person of the other row. O sits second to the right of one
who sits at an extreme end of the line. O faces an immediate neighbour of W. X
sits to the immediate right of W. the one who faces X sits at one of the positions to
the left of P. P does not face W. M sits to the immediate left of the one who faces
Z.

24.Eight persons - E, F, G, H, L, M, N and O are sitting in a straight line facing


north but not necessarily in the same order. H is sitting second to the right of N and
L is sitting fourth to the right of H. M is sitting to the right of F. number of persons
can sit between G and L is same as the number of persons are sitting between O
and F. O is sitting to the immediate left of G
who is not an immediate neighbour of L. F is not an immediate neighbour of N.
