STOP DESTROYING AND START SAVING

Life is made possible on Earth because of its resources. It would be impossible for us to imagine living
without these resources since life cannot exist without sunlight, fresh water, greenery, and air. But if we
don’t save the earth today, this will soon become our reality.

As a human being in today’s era, I see that our environment is getting worse because of our actions and also
because of the modernization that is happening right now. We can say that through this modernization, life
will be easier, but we also need to see the effects of this, especially on our natural resources. It’s sad to say
that in my hometown, everything changed from what it used to be. Before, I can hear a lot of chirping birds.
There’s a lot of trees that give us fresh air and a shed in the sunlight. A clean creek that provides us fresh
fish for our meal. But the quantity of trees decreases with time. Even an electric fan can’t keep up with the
temperature since it is so high. Our source of the fresh fish is contaminated. If there is a strong typhoon, we
are experiencing floods that are 3 to 6 feet high and last for 3 to 4 days. As a student, I shall save my
hometown, but not only that, but the whole world. I’ll start with discipline. Because when we are
disciplined, we care about the smallest details. I plan to put trees in our backyard. I will educate children and
inform them what will happen to their future if they do not act today. We will be the role models. From a
backyard to a hectare of tree-planted land. With that, there will be little chance of floods. The birds will
start chirping again, and the weather will be bearable. There will be adequate food from fruit-bearing plants.
We may contribute to the plans for sustainable development by performing these simple deeds. We can
make things easier for them. And if everyone understands the value of our ecosystem and contributes to it by
saying no to deforestation, proper trash disposal, reforestation, and the proper use of all things that can harm
the world, we will gradually minimize this terrifying disaster. We will no longer be fearful of what
tomorrow will bring because we will act to rescue nature. We can save Mother Earth, or rather, the future of
our children, one step at a time.

Let us take responsibility. It is never too late to save what deserves to be protected. Nature provides us with
everything it has. It’s time to get even. To be effective, we must love what we are doing for nature. Nature
is not just a thing; it is our home. So preserve it, save it, and adore it.
