HOTEL NETWORK MANAGEMENT PROJECT
Abstract:
Design and implementation of Vic Modern Hotel network. The hotel has
three floors; in the first floor there three departments (Reception, store
and Logistics), in the second floor there are three departments (Finance,
HR and Sales Marketing), while the third floor hosts the IT and Admin.
Therefore, the following are part of the considerations during the design
and implementation.
1. There should be three routers connecting each floor (all placed in the
server room in
IT department).
2. All routers should be connected to each other using serial DCE cable.
3. The network between the routers should be
10.10.10.0/30.10.10.10.4/30,10.10.10.8/30
4. Each floor is expected to have one switch (placed in the respective
floor).
5. Each floor is expected to have WIFI networks connected to laptops
and phones.
6. Each department is expected to have a printer.
7. Each department is expected to be in different VLAN
Hardware:
Microsoft Windows 8.1, 10, 11 (64bit), Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04 LTS (64bit)
or macOS 10.14 or newer. amd64(x86-64) CPU. 4GB of free RAM. 1.4
GB of free disk space.
Software:
Cisco packet tracer:

Packet Tracer is a cross-platform visual simulation program designed by
Cisco Systems that allows users to create network topologies and imitate
modern computer networks. The software allows users to simulate the
configuration of Cisco routers and switches using a simulated command
line interface
Introduction:
.
The hotel has three floors; in the first floor there three departments
(Reception, store and Logistics), in the second floor there are three
departments (Finance, HR and Sales/Marketing), while the third floor
hosts the IT and Admin. Therefore, the following are part of the
considerations during the design and implementation;
There should be three routers connecting each floor (all placed in the
server room in IT department).
All routers should be connected to each other using serial DCE cable.
Each floor is expected to have one switch (placed in the respective floor).
1st Floor;
10
- Reception- VLAN 80, Network of 192.168.8.0/24
2nd Floor;
3rd Floor;
All the devices in the network are expected to communicate with each
other.
Use Case:
The network topology below satisfy the user requirements above and
everything is verified, tested and working fine.
Technologies Implemented:
Creating a network topology using Cisco Packet Tracer.
12
Creating VLANs and assigning ports VLAN numbers.
Conclusions:
The conclusion of this project is A Hotel management system
is a computerized management system. This system keeps the records of
hardware assets besides software of this organization. The proposed
system will keep a track of Workers, Recidents, Accounts and generation
of report regarding the present status
