1.0 PURPOSE:

1.1 The purpose of this procedure is to establish the methods of controlling,


calibrating and maintaining inspection, measuring and test equipment to
ensure that they are correctly calibrated and adjusted at specific intervals to
maintain accuracy within the required tolerances.

2.0 SCOPE:

2.1 This procedure shall be considered applicable to the measuring and test
equipment used by SITE TECHNOLOGY LTD. CO.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES:

3.1 The Division Manager (DM) and Project Engineer (PE) are responsible to review
and implement this procedure

4.0 PROCEDURE:

4.1 The DM shall prepare, maintain, the calibration plan (QPN10f1) annually for all
Measuring & Monitoring Devices requiring calibration. Also he shall update it
against any new instrument/equipment/device newly introduced to the system
or rather terminated.

4.2 Where it is agreed that internal calibration capability is inadequate for given
instrumentation, DM shall identify the external calibration sources.

4.3 The inspection, measuring and test equipment shall be calibrated through
traceable to national or international standards.

4.4 The intervals of calibration for each instrument shall be based on:
• External calibrating agency determination
• Manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Known instrument performance and frequency of usage.

4.5 The DM shall liaise with the external calibration agencies to ensure that the
instruments requiring calibration are collected from the project sites and
returned after calibration.

4.6 Advance notification period shall be determined by DM to all the projects sites
which have instrument-requiring calibration, taken into consideration the
external calibrating agencies response times.

4.7 DM shall send copies of calibration certificates done to the concerned project
site. All records of calibration shall be made available to the clients on request.

4.8 Upon project site request, the calibrated instrument / equipment shall be issued
to authorized personnel along with calibration certificate and shall be stored in
a controlled secure storage area.

4.9 DM & PE of every project shall ensure that the equipment calibrated are suitably
identified to indicate its calibration status using labels shown below (if
required).

4.10 If a calibration device is found giving mis-leading or incorrect readings or was


damaged for whatever, the user shall report this immediately to the PM and it
is up to him to decide whether it is necessary to repeat and validate previous
measurements performed on that device according to identified necessity.

4.11 Each and every monitoring/measuring device purchased shall be accompanied


with its related calibration certificate from the supplier if possible or any
document which supports that this device is originally calibrated.
