Compare and contrast essay-Travel and Sports

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important to live and enjoy a healthy and happy life.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle requires variation in meals and food, a healthy diet that provides
balanced energy to the body, and suffered physical activity. All these elements help maintaining
a healthy lifestyle by improving physical and mental strength. Different activities including
different sports like running, squash, rowing, swimming, rock climbing, walking ,and football
among others can be added in our routine activities to keep ourselves healthy.
Travelling is also a healthy activity that helps in improving mental and physical health. From
reducing stress to decreasing heart diseases to a great extent, travelling undoubtedly has
innumerable benefits. It is way better to plan out a trip which would help you exercise as well as
enjoy at the same time rather than just sitting clumsily on a chair all day long. Even your
physician would be glad to see you step out of your comfort zone and try out the exciting
adventures that would definitely give a boost to your energy and make you feel very fresh and
relaxed. Travelling has a major benefit i.e. it is a break from your daily life routine that drives
you mad just because it is just too hectic and same. One of the most interesting benefits of
travelling is that it makes you smarter! As you pick and learn new words from various languages,
you’ll notice that your brain’s capacity and ability increases and this way your skills don’t get
rusted and are instead polished as you get to use your brain more and more, that too in something
so interesting! You start learning travel jargons. Traveling obviously improves your
understanding of other cultures as you become more tolerant and familiar with other cultures.
According to Saint Augustine, ‘The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one
page’. It helps you get exposed to tons of new innovations and information. Your perspectives
surely get changed once you get to know a place by visiting it yourself. If you’re a traveler then
for sure you might be the favorite one from your squad as you might always have something or
the other to amaze them with your surprising adventures. Telling people something that they’re
not familiar with is a good way to shine in a social situation. No one would want to hear about a
boring guy who spent his vacations doing homework and gardening; instead people would be
more pleased to hear about someone who spent a week in Cuba, driving an old American car,
swimming with dolphins and tasting delicious food! Talking about the how beneficial traveling
is, one can undoubtedly claim that it surely expands your social network as you build long-
lasting relationships from all over the world with the people you meet abroad. How amazing it
would be to meet someone on a trip and later get an invite from him/her to their wedding all the
way from the other end of the world! Some connections you make while travelling are truly
strongest and the most interesting ones!
Sports have quite a few advantages; the main ones being a source of staying healthy and fit. It is
quite natural to desire for a healthy body and keep it in the best working conditions. Its exactly
like a car which is left without being used for years and when you try to run the motor engine, it
will never work as it is definitely rusted and its engine might be broken or in the worst condition.
People are similar to cars and engines. It is a fact that if we don’t sport, our bodies will get rusted
or actually decompose and in the old ages we would get tired even after a small walk. Sports
balance the body’s blood pressure and circulation. According to various researches and surveys,
those middle aged people who did not do sports in their youth struggle with numerous problems
such as those of high tension, troubles with blood circulation and they even get tired very quickly
and this consequently shows how important sports are for us. Another advantage of sports is as it
has become part of our daily lives, competitions are being held worldwide and this is a major
source of entertainment for those who are a part of it as well as for those who watch it just for
fun and some for their likeness for the particular sport. Sports affect our daily life activities and
moods very much as they are an absolute source of refreshment and pleasure. If one is feeling
low some day or just too lazy to do anything, a small sports activity could definitely cheer him
up. If we talk about a football in particular, then it is quite noticeable that millions of people
watch the World Cup without breathing at all! There is obviously some reason that compels them
to become a part of the sport and that is Excitement and Enjoyment. Football matches are
definitely exhilarating. Inside the pitch and near the pitch there are 18 players who are the
representatives of one’s culture. The excitement for sports comes from the fact that the country
competes and beats the opponent and this is what actually triggers happiness in the whole nation!
This is how pleasure can be taken from sports. The final and one of the most important one is the
huge market for the company’s economy. If we take a look at the football industry then it can be
seen that there are more than thousand professional teams and each team has 25 players. If this
number is estimated then there are around 25000 players in this sport alone and this calculation is
only for the players, not including the working staff, the scouts, coaches and managers. In
addition to this, new facilities have been established in countries and clubs for sports and some
very huge buildings have been made especially for sports such as the Attaturk Olympic Stadium
in Turkey. Funds are supplied for the establishment of such sports complexes which help the
country organize large-scale competitions such as World-cups, Olympics and Tennis
tournaments. Finally through sports, advertising companies can make publicity of their brands
such as sponsorships. Every football fan likes watching their favorite team such as in England,
Manchester United is the most powerful club and it has a sponsor known as ‘Vodafone’.
Summing up the whole thing, it is very certain that both sports and travelling can be very
beneficial in different ways and that if someone makes both of them a part of their routine then
definitely life would become way happier, exciter and healthier.
