DESCALER CS. 1-062

1. DESCRIPTION

Descaler CS. 1-062 is a heavy duty Acid Cleaner which simultaneously degreases, derust and
descale hot rolled ferrous metal substrate, it contains special inhibitors to minimize further
corrosion attack on ferrous surface leaving a cleaned which is ideal for paint adhesion.

2. EQUIPMENT

Descaler CS. 1-062 is a strong acidic product. The processing tank may be constructed
of stainless steel such as type 316 grade, PVC or acid resistant materials lined tank are
recommended.

3. USES

Application : Dipping
Make up concentration : 250 kg per 1000 liters parts of water.
Note : The concentration may be higher than the concentration above,
it depends on the scale or rust condition (specify to light,
medium or heavy) to be removed. For specific requirements
please seek advice to our Technical Service Department.
Temperature : Ambient
Dipping Time : 10 – 20 minutes.

4. PROCESS

Preparation : Remove heavy oil and grease.


Treatment : Dip the article to be cleaned for 10-20 min until all the mill
scale or rust is removed. The pickling tank must have a suction
fan for ventilation to prevent the acid fume from coming into
contact with the operator’s inhalation.
Rinsing : Rinse is clean water followed by running water bath.

5. BATH MAINTENANCE

1) Adjust the bath to required working level with tap water.


2) Pipettes 1 ml of bath Solution into 250 ml conical flask, add approximately 100 ml of
water.
3) Add 5 drops Bromophenol blue Indicator.
4) Titrate against Sol No 3 Titrating Solution until the color change from yellow to blue.
5) The number of ml Sol No 3 used is the point value of the solution. This should be
maintaining between 5-7 ml.
6) Add 42 kg CS.1-062 per 1 point up for every 1000 liters of bath solution.

6. HANDLING PRECAUTION

The preparation contains Acid Rubber, PVC gloves and goggles must be used when handling
the chemical and its bath Solution. If the liquid gets into the eyes, wash out with a plenty of
clean water and obtain immediate medical attention.

7. STORAGE

The chemicals are liquid form product and do not require special protection in cold or
hot weather. Avoid contact directly from the sunshine.

8. WASTE DISPOSAL

The chemicals may require the waste treatment to a specific parameter range such as
pH range, it dependent upon local waste water treatment regulations. Please contact
our Technical Service Department for disposal handling method requirements.
