Mr. Md Mozammal Hossain, aged 31, underwent an MRI of his cervical spine which found cervical spondylosis, or degenerative disc disease, predominantly at the C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels. The MRI showed disc osteophyte complexes causing mild indentation of the spinal cord at these levels without any cord signal changes. There was also severe left foraminal stenosis at C6-C7 likely compressing the exiting nerve root. The remainder of the cervical spine showed no significant abnormalities.

MRI SPINE PLAIN CERVICAL

Radiology Report
Mr. Md Mozammal Hossain
MM02546460

MRI CERVICAL SPINE (SCAN DONE IN NEUTRAL, FLEXION AND EXTENSION POSITION)
Study date: 30/05/2023

FINDINGS:

There is straightening of the normal cervical spine lordosis.

Degenerative changes are seen in the form of multilevel disc desiccation and marginal endplate osteophytes. The
vertebral bodies are otherwise normal in height, alignment and signal intensity. No marrow edema or focal
destructive osseous lesion is seen.

The craniovertebral junction is normal. No tonsillar herniation.

At C2-C3 level: No significant posterior disc osteophyte complex, central canal or foraminal stenosis.

At C3-C4 level: No significant posterior disc osteophyte complex, central canal or foraminal stenosis.

At C4 C5 level: No significant posterior disc osteophyte complex, central canal or foraminal stenosis.

At C5-C6 level: Broad-based moderate right posterior paracentral disc osteophyte complex resulting
effacement of the underlying thecal sac and indentation on the right ventral aspect of the cord. No
significant foraminal stenosis. No cord signal changes seen.

At C6-C7 level: Broad-based moderate left posterior paracentral disc osteophyte resulting effacement of
underlying thecal sac and mild indentation on the left ventral aspect of cord and severe left foraminal
stenosis with likely compression of exiting nerve root. No cord signal changes seen.

On scan done in flexion position, there is mild increase in the indentation on the cord. No significant central
canal stenosis is otherwise present. Posterior thecal space is preserved.

At C7-D1 level: No significant posterior disc osteophyte complex, central canal or foraminal stenosis.
Rest of the cervical spinal cord is otherwise normal in caliber and signal intensity. No syringomyelia.

No pre-paravertebral mass is seen. Posterior elements are unremarkable. No significant ligamentum flavum
thickening or facetal hypertrophy is seen at any level.
