6 Loading & Unloading

1. Loading and unloading operations present risks such as materials, equipment, or transports dropping or rolling and causing injury or property damage. Controls include inspection and certification of all involved equipment, licensing of operators, and procedures to secure loads and protect those in surrounding areas. 2. Additional risks during storage and movement of materials include items dropping, rolling, or collapsing. Controls require proper stacking and placement of stoppers, wearing of PPE, moving equipment slowly and safely, and securely positioning ladders. 3. With controls, the risks were reduced to medium likelihood and low severity. Continued monitoring and adherence to controls are needed to maintain risk reduction.
