Final Project: Self-assessment of skills and improvement plan.
Self-assessment of skills:
I think it is important to create an environment in which an important function is
fulfilled so that the data obtained from it strengthens and reorients it in my
educational practice, allowing me to make decisions and participating with all the
members with whom I am working daily.
In this way, the internal evaluation or self-evaluation establishes the basic
definitions and all those components that must be present in my daily process and
a clear example where I apply it is in my administrative area of my work, my skills
and capacity to work in team have stood out during the last period from my point of
view. I have actively participated in my department and worked with confidence to
express my ideas and opinions.
I am aware that I can control too much in a project, without letting other team
members contribute or develop their ideas enough. I must learn to give others
more space and not always take the initiative.
On the other hand, self-evaluation processes help institutions and companies to
rectify the orientation of their workers and employees, as well as their policies and
practices, in order to achieve the proposed objectives and goals, which allows
improving team performance. and design the necessary strategies to correct
deficiencies or difficulties. By also emphasizing the positive elements, it is
understood that the self-evaluation method always allows the team's self-esteem to
be stimulated.
I also think that self-assessment has its pros and cons. I feel that sometimes I
concentrate too much on a task due to my tendency towards perfectionism. I must
learn to dedicate resources more efficiently, although sometimes I can feel
overwhelmed when I am forced to make an important decision, which leads me to
seek the advice of others. I have to work on my ability to solve complex problems
as I have demonstrated on different occasions my ability to solve problems. I
manage to resolve complex situations effectively, taking into account the rest of the
team in terms of the work environment in which I work daily.
The reason for doing this work and self-evaluating is mainly based on the fact that
in the general administration module, which has helped me do a complete analysis
of my career and how I am as a person, taking into account the different skills and
strengths that I can mention or highlight the following
When I have to make a difficult decision, I rationally evaluate the positive and
negative aspects, as well as the possible outcomes. I research and seek the
advice of experts to make an informed decision. I tend to take my past experiences
into account rather than looking for new solutions when making decisions.
You should spend more time reflecting and avoid repeating mistakes.
I am able to manage my time correctly to meet deadlines, no matter how
tight they may be.
I have the ability to prioritize the most important tasks and if I am not able to
do something I delegate it to others with experience. Time management is
one of my weak points. I usually leave the tasks that motivate me least or
that are most difficult for me until the last minute. If I feel stressed, my
attention to detail worsens.
I appreciate the conversations and positive debate among colleagues. I
actively listen to my team and promote shared decision making. When
communicating with clients, I try to build a positive relationship.
I need to work on my ability to manage emotions and not let them affect my
professional relationships. Sometimes it's hard for me to communicate.
I adapt to changes and try to do my part to facilitate the transition. I
appreciate the advice and if something goes wrong, I stay calm and positive.
I must work to support change and avoid micromanagement. It is difficult for
me to take on new tasks or those that I consider are not within my
responsibilities.
Although I believe I have made progress in my negotiation skills, I am aware
that I have room for improvement. I approach meetings correctly and try to
listen actively.
I am aware of my strengths and weaknesses which allows me to manage
my emotions more easily. I try to understand and listen to everyone.
I often feel frustrated and have trouble communicating when I detect certain
behaviors in other team members. I get distracted and don't take other
people's opinions into account, but those are rare.
Communication is one of my main skills since the ability to express oneself
clearly and assertively, as well as to listen actively, are skills that allow us to
establish healthy interpersonal relationships and avoid unnecessary
conflicts. Additionally, good communication can improve work efficiency
which has helped me a lot as a person.
the ability to analyze situations, identify causes and consequences, and
make informed decisions. Good problem-solving skills can help avoid
stressful situations and make better decisions in different areas of life.
Objectives and Results:
This project has helped me understand a little more about my capabilities to have
continuous improvement as a person and professional, since each area of
improvement and its importance for your professional growth and development.
Therefore, technical skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, leadership
skills, problem-solving abilities, among other relevant aspects, are of utmost
importance for me personally and to execute on a day-to-day basis in my career.
On the other hand, life skills are essential for personal and social development.
Communication, emotional skills, problem solving and leadership are some of the
most important skills I have as a person and help me face life's challenges
effectively. It is important to develop these skills throughout life, as they can be
useful in different areas, from work to personal relationships. Developing these
skills can improve the quality of life and help achieve personal and professional
goals, which allows me to help avoid stressful situations and make better
decisions.
What I want to achieve as a main objective and future improvement is the
following:
Believe more in my leadership since it also involves skills such as the ability to
delegate tasks and make strategic decisions.
The ability to identify and solve problems effectively.
Developing these skills can help improve the quality of interpersonal
relationships and foster a healthier work environment.
Have good communication as this can help me improve work efficiency and
productivity in work teams.
Look for ways that can promote personal and social development, whether it be
my environment or self-evaluation as a person.
Results:
I consider that one of the great opportunities that a company that is dedicated to
any business has is administration and management. There are so many aspects
that must be taken into account when making decisions and executing their skills
that, if the manager does not have the basic fundamentals clear and developed, he
or she may take measures that lead to failure of any intention for improvement.
In other words, ability is a certain level of competence that individuals have to meet
specific objectives, it is how I want to achieve my goals in the future as well as
develop more capabilities, having a clear plan to follow, whether in the short,
medium or long term. both at work and professionally.
Without a doubt, the strategist is the person within an organization in charge of
concatenating all the elements available to him to reach specific goals. These
resources must be used in the best way, effectively and efficiently and thus
executed based on my abilities.
I consider myself a good strategist since I am a person capable of functioning in a
given environment. I must have sufficient competence to lead a company or an
organization towards meeting set objectives. With a vision of the future and
applying sufficient skills, the strategic manager will be able to take an organization
on the best, competitive, differentiating path, with the best people, in an
exceptional work environment that will give results that exceed the expectations of
the employees. owners and shareholders.
I would like to conclude by saying that the success of a company depends largely
on the rapport, communication and commitment that may exist among its
employees, the manager has great responsibility for ensuring that this task is
fulfilled. Through assertive communication at all levels, the objectives, mission and
vision of the company will be clear.
