INTERVIEW LEARNING’S

1. What are the primary responsibilities of your role

as a CEO in software company?
As a CEO in software company, my primary
responsibilities include setting and executing
different departments i.e. Sales, Marketing, Human
Resources and other internal operations department.
For that we have appointed vertical heads like Sales
head, Marketing head, HR head and operational
heads that I would say development head as it is an
IT company My work is to sink up with these heads.
We discuss about the progress of each department
and challenges they are facing. Looking out
challenges and taking appropriate decisions with
managers i.e. departmental heads Ultimately, my
role is to guide the company towards sustainable
growth, profitability, and a leadership position in
the competitive software industry.

2. In all these operations which is the most

challenging task for you?
Look, each department has its own challenges. For
ex. Sales has its challenges i.e. How to build a team
for a project and how to train them for that. What
targets has not been completed or reached and how
to tackle all these. How to provide new tools if
required For Development challenges as we have
different level employees like freshers, experienced
so how to make balance among them. So, we
provide mentorship programs for freshers by which
freshers get the chance to improve and learn new
skills.
3. How do you prioritize task and responsibilities as a
8 CEO of a company?
For this we use some software tools like
TRELLO in which we define the week’s tasks
for all of us & also conduct weekly or
monthly meetings according to the needs of
company in which all Board of directors talk
and decides the future agendas of the
company like new hirings, promotions and so
on.

4. What is your approach to setting and achieving the

team goal?
For setting and achieving the team goal
there is a hierarch established in each team
i.e. Marketing, Sales, Development.
• In marketing they have their goals i.e.
they must publish posts, ads or blogs on
social media to reach out to the different
goals or challenges.
• For Sale team, we define budget for the
whole year and then we must define
according to this budget how much sell we
should have for quarter with margin and
profitability
• For Development team, we assign them
projects with different deadlines and goals.
Obviously, managers decides their goals
and deadlines for us. For developers we use
AGILE methodology
In AGILE method we assign two weeks
target which is called “sprint” managed
9
through JIRA software a management tool on
which All the members on the same project
assigned their daily tasks individually. In this
way we achieve our team goals.

5.How do you handle team conflicts or

disagreements?
This is the toughest part as a CEO because
people management is the most important
part for this post and its totally depends on
situations. Ex. Employee asked for their
suggestions or views where we agree on
some and must discard others. But
prioritizing the person who is right for that
situation without neglecting the wrong was
very important. And we do it by ensuring
them that their views are correct but not
compliant with the present problem. Because
saying straight no may hurt their EGO that is
what we must refrain from. But here
ultimate decision is in the hands of the
managers.

6. How do you assess and develop the skills of your

team members?
For this we have a learning program
internally and purchase courses from
multiple platforms. If new technologies was
introduced, then we give employees certain
time to learn it with some training if needed.
7. Can you share examples of how you delegate
10 tasks effectively?
For task delegation the first part is planning
and then there is hierarchy in each
department manager must accomplish these
goals, so they becomes their goals as well
Now manager assign the task to the team
thus team’s accomplishment are manager’s
achievements, and which are ultimately of
the company itself.

8. What strategies do you use to motivate and inspire

your team and to appreciate the performance of
employees?
For this we use Reward system or promotion
& sometimes both. And sometimes we
gathered at outside like restaurants and
farmhouse for party and take enjoyment.
Sometimes we help employee with their
needs if the company can do it. So, we take
steps according to the situation and
expectations of the employees. All these
things help in team building and getting true
feedbacks from the employees.

9. What if the target is not achieved?

When we make the managerial report of
employee and some of the employee not able
to perform well, then we run a PIP
(Performance Improvement Program) for
him/her.
In that we saw how we help the employee to
improve performance by providing resources
like training or counselling & set certain
11 goals that achieved during the PIP and
analyze whether he/she performs well or not
after that we take decision whether he/she
continue or not.

10. Can you describe a typical day or week in your

role?
As I already describe you, I deal with different
departments, and every department has its own
tasks like for sales how many projects we have,
what are upcoming meetings we have, which
client’s proposal must be sent, and then analyses of
all these events. Then I come to the marketing
team we do agenda formation for that particular
week , like if we reach out on social media then
what theme we would have in that week, which
posts must be published like Healthtech, Customize
software solution development, RPA services etc.
Then we analyse which week or month got more
response.

11. What do you believe are the most important

leadership qualities fir a manager to possess?
According to me CEO should be a friendly nature
not a bossy because bossy nature not build a strong
team, but friendly nature build it. CEO goals should
be aligned with the company’s goal for a better
performance. There should be mutual trust or belief
like I believe in you, and you believe in me because
it is a two-way relationship.
12. What do you think on “Plans are nothing, but
planning is everything”?
12 Yes, planning or execution is very important.
For example:- We launched some products
with proper plans, but they failed because of
fault in execution part. We have multiple
plans but for its success a right execution is
required because whenever we focused on
execution, we got success.

13. How do you balance short-term & long-term

goals in your management approach?
We do it by thinking about the company’s
mission and vision. In long term goals we
work on the vision of company and to get it
we organize a yearly meeting to achieve that
vision and for achieving the vision part we
work on our mission and to get it we work
on short term goals of the company by
monthly meetings.

14. What pieces of Advice would you give to

someone aspiring to become a successful CEO?
For me, the useful traits are:-
1.Hearing should be focused rather talking
i.e. everyone must be heard.
2. Should believe in consults with employees
also.
3. Putting oneself in the employee’s shoes.
4. Should have willingness of learning,
because learning never ends.
