TED stands for technology, entertainment and design.

TED-Ed celebrates the ideas of


teachers and students around the world. Discover hundreds of animated lessons, create
customized lessons, and share your big idea. TED talks are vignettes, mostly in the form of talks,
about change, and ideas. It began in the 1980s; TED was conceived in 1984 by Richard Saul
Wurman and Harry Marks. TED-Ed is the educational side of TED. Ten minutes is the standard
length of their video. There is no video less than 3 minutes, but you also able to discover witten
information there.
The purpose of TED-Ed program itself is helps students to create TED-style talks to
encourage research, discovery, exploration, and presentation skills. These videos can be uploaded
to the platform, and twice annually the most compelling speakers are invited to present in New
York (under normal circumstances). I know this application started from 1st semester at my
university. It was used for practice listening comprehension. TED-Ed video also able to access in
YouTube. I think it is a good idea to use because TED-Ed has lots of creative and unique video
education with complete variety topics in more than 100 languages. You also able to see the
official transcript there, not like YouTube which is having wrong translation. The application will
adjust yourself, whether you are teacher or student. This time in 5th semester, the lecturer asks us
to make questions from TED-Ed video, it is quite easy to make either multiple question or open
answer. Not only answer the question, but you also can discuss together there. So, in this
application you are not supposed to watching video, but also making question.
Listening to TED Talks can help you improve the skills you will need either in high
school or need to adopt in order to be successful in college. Why TED-Ed is a good suggestion to
use rather than YouTube? Because if you use YouTube when you open the application you will
distracted by the other videos, but in TED-Ed it is special for learning so you can directly to
search what kind of video do you want to watch.
TED also have the term like TED-Talks. It means a recorded public-speaking
presentation that was originally given at the main TED wheread the usual TED is giving speech
in front of partticipant by the speaker. These are must-see motivational talks! TED Talks began in
1984 with the mission of “spreading ideas.” Since then, a single conference has blossomed into a
flurry of ideas that inspire and motivate people from all over the world to achieve more and dare
to do great things.
