 PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

Introduction

Snabb IT located at Gran Avenida #3840 Office 808, San Miguel, Santiago, is a company belonging to the A&G
Asociados group, a company that for more than 15 years has been offering professional support, networking
and hardware services.

In Snabb IT, there are two departments, the IT support area, in charge of implementing the different problems
that arise, and the commercial and human resources area, in charge of the quotation and purchase of
computer supplies, as well as the hiring of personnel.

The work of the trainee is located in the computer support department, whose tasks are as follows:

- On-site support
- Laboratory support
- Configuration of network equipment
- Development of network projects

The purpose of this report is to generate evidence of the student's work, with the objective of improving their
labor competencies, as a first approach to the labor market.

The experience gained has allowed the author of this report to grow and mature as an integral worker, both in
technical-professional competencies and in soft skills.

Company Description
Mission

Description of the work area

The work area consists mainly of two environments.

The first place is the computer laboratory where the different tools used to carry out the implementations are
located, which are the following:

- Configuration of network equipment

Secondly, we have the different companies to which I make a field visit, where I solve the different installations
and configurations of network equipment in situ.

Description of the problems and solutions faced

First Problem: Firewall implementation and configuration to optimize the network of Agricola
Prodalmen Limitada.

The purchase of a Fortinet Fortigate 30D equipment was made and its configuration is shown below

Second Problem: Wireless network installation for the company Limonada

In a third problem, we had to implement a wireless network for a company called lemonade, which would
allow to cover with internet and connectivity to all the warehouse 9 of the company. So, together with the
operations manager, a plan was drawn up of where the different network equipment would be located, and
then the installation of the equipment in the field was carried out. The following points were considered in the
planning of the project:

- The need for internal access points would be covered with the new Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO Long Range
Access Point devices with PoE technology.

- According to the information provided to Snabbit.cl, the installation of 13 Ubiquiti AC PRO 2.4 and 5
Ghz Dual Band APs was proposed. At the same time, a 24xGigE POE UniFi Switch is installed to improve the
network speed of the entire office, and the communications equipment is protected with a UPS.

The project planning was based on a Gantt chart, which had to be studied by both Limonada and Snabbit.cl . In
turn, in accordance with what was proposed, the planned tasks were carried out, contemplating all the topics
accepted from the advice provided. It should be noted that, within this planning, milestones necessary to carry
out the final task were considered.

The tasks included the following activities:

• Equipment testing and laboratory testing.

• Commissioning customer configuration.

• Functional tests.

• Validation of configurations with the client.

• Delivery of final work.

Conclusions

A very dynamic practice was carried out, performing tasks such as making plans and network diagrams,
equipment configuration, which are servers, firewall, switches, wireless access points, in addition to the
development of network solutions (projects) that allow the best solution to the problems presented in the
customers.

In addition, I was able to successfully interact with people from different departments, such as the commercial
area, to see which equipment was the most suitable for the different solutions proposed.

In conclusion, I can assure that I learned to plan, direct and control the different points of a network project,
using to the maximum my resolutive capacities and my ingenuity, whose work meant the correct realization of
all the activities in which I was involved, so that I fully complied with the objective of an internship that meant a
first encounter with the working world, which in this case was carried out in the area of studies.The work
