How you will contribute


You will:
• Work in close partnership with the business leadership team to execute the analytics agenda
• Identify and incubate best-in-class external partners to drive delivery on strategic projects
• Develop custom models/algorithms to uncover signals/patterns and trends to drive long-
term business performance.
• Execute the business analytics program agenda using a methodical approach that
conveys to stakeholders what business analytics will deliver

What extra ingredients you will bring:


• Strong quantitative skillset with experience in statistics and linear algebra.
• Hands-on work on key data science projects – in terms of
o application of mathematical, statistical, predictive modelling or machine-learning
techniques and with sensitivity to the limitations of the techniques.
o Select, acquire and integrate data for analysis.
o Develop data hypotheses and methods, train and evaluate analytics models, share
insights and findings and continues to iterate with additional data.
o Develop processes, techniques, and tools to analyze and monitor model
performance while ensuring data accuracy
• Evaluate the need for analytics, assess the problems to be solved and what internal or
external data sources to use or acquire. Specify and apply appropriate mathematical,
statistical, predictive modelling or machine-learning techniques to analyze data, generate
insights, create value and support decision making. A natural inclination toward solving
complex problems
• Contribute to exploration and experimentation in data visualization and you will manage
reviews of the benefits and value of analytics techniques and tools and recommend
improvements
• Good communication skills to promote cross-team collaboration.

Education / Certifications: Degree (Postgraduate) in Mathematics/Statistics from reputed


institute/universities

• Communication, for example conveying information to diverse audiences in a way that is
easily understood and actionable.
• Facilitation and conflict resolution, for example hosting sessions to elicit ideas from
others, understand their issues and encourage group participation.
• Creative thinking and being comfortable with unknown or unchartered territories, for
example framing new concepts for business teams and brainstorming with business users
about future product and services.
• Teamwork & Collaboration, for example working with both business domain teams as well
as D&A teams and stakeholders.
• Storytelling & influencing, for example by creating a consistent, clear storyline for better
understanding and/or to assert ideas and persuading others to gain support across an
organization or to adopt new behaviors.

Data & analytics skills


• Working Knowledge: Analytics (diagnostic, descriptive, predictive and prescriptive)
techniques
o Machine Learning (ML) & Artificial Intelligence (AI)
▪ Trains, guides and coaches junior colleagues in ML/AI concepts,
methods and algorithms
▪ Demonstrates awareness of latest ML/AI research, trends and
developments - including decision-tree learning, clustering,
artificial neural networks, etc., and their pros and cons
▪ Defines ML/AI use cases within Mondelez
o Modelling
▪ Utilizes best-practice techniques for model estimation and tuning to
assess accuracy, fit, validity and robustness
▪ Trains, guides and coaches junior colleagues in the area of modelling
o Big Data Technologies, Concepts, Architectures and Methodologies
▪ Demonstrates wide knowledge of the latest big data technologies,
methods of analysis and relevant software tools.
▪ Identifies a big data problem and selects the appropriate big data
technologies to solve a problem

• Working Knowledge: Tools & tech
o Knows a wide range of tools and demonstrates experience in programming
languages – R, SQL, Python. Business Intelligence tools like Tableau & Power BI
▪ Understands their constraints, advantages, disadvantages
▪ Knows how to use them to answer business questions by applying
modelling techniques.
o Multilingual coding knowledge/experience: Java, JavaScript, C, C++, etc.
o Assist in model deployment to production by utilizing detailed knowledge of existing
infrastructure, architecture and the organizational context
o Collaborate on model maintenance and sustainability strategy upon hand-off to
production
o Trains, guides and coaches junior data scientists in usage of various tools

• Working Knowledge: Statistical skills:
o Knowledge and experience in advanced statistical techniques and concepts
including, regression, distribution properties, statistical testing, Random Forest,
GBM, XGBoost, SVM, Logistic & Linear Regression, Forecasting (ARMA / ARIMA),
Bayesian Modelling, K-means Clustering / Segmentation, Social network analysis,
Text mining, etc
o
• Working Knowledge: Business data:
o Sales, Factory / Depot, First Party data, Third Party data, Customer POS, Media GRP,
Shopper Panels, Shipments, Geo-Location, Trade Spend, etc

• Working Knowledge: UX/design, for example by creating products and visualizations that
are easy to work with and support the activities required by the end users

• Practitioner: Data management, for example data integration (ETL) or metadata.

• Awareness:
o Data architecture, for example the difference between data warehouse, data lake or
data hub.
o Data governance, for example MDM, data quality and data stewardship practices.
