The Stages of Spiritual Growth
STAGE 3-Skeptic, Individual, Questioner

minded who demand measurable, well researched and
logical explanation

PSYCHO-SPIRITUALITY
3 Dimensions of an Individual:
1. Intrapersonal Relationship
2. Interpersonal Relationship
3. Metapersonal Relationship
PSYCHO-SPIRITUALITY
*If I have a problem with
Intrapersonal Relationship, then, I
will also have a problem with my
Interpersonal Relationship and
Metapersonal Relationship
PSYCHO-SPIRITUALITY
Psycho-Spirituality in Each Dimension:
1. Interpersonal Relationship
-Psycho: self-esteem Spirituality: God within
2. Intrapersonal Relationship
-Psycho: intimacy with SO Spirituality: God thru SOs
3. Metapersonal Relationship
-Psycho: Social Christianity Spirituality: Creation Spirituality
PSYCHO-SPIRITUALITY
∙ 3 Dimensions of a person:
1. INTRAPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP
-Psycho: self-esteem Spirituality: God within
-how I relate to myself have an impact/ effect to my
self-esteem
*If I have low self-esteem like I cannot appreciate
myself, cannot forgive myself for mistakes or
failures committed, I cannot see God in me
PSYCHO-SPIRITUALITY
∙ 3 Dimensions of a person:
2. INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP
-Psycho: intimacy with SO Spirituality: God thru SOs
-lack of intimacy: there are members of the family I do not want
to see, to whom my anger and grudge are directed
*this situation starts resurrecting in other people I start to be
with
(e.g. I start hating the person because I see my mother in her)
*I am angry, hate or cannot forgive a family member (thus, i am
not intimate with him/ her), it follows that I cannot see God in
others and so I hate others, have anger directed towards them.
PSYCHO-SPIRITUALITY
3. METAPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP
-Psycho: Social Christianity Spirituality: Creation Spirituality
-Social Christianity: good relationship with people we see everyday but we do
not know them
*If I am a person who hates other people/ everybody, then, I do not have social
Christianity
-Creation Spirituality: taking care of the environment; recognizing life, things
and place are sacred; inter-connectedness
*If I hate other people, I cannot take care of the environment, feel connected to
people I do not know or know (I do not care about other people I know or do not
know), respect and hold life, things, place and the rest of God’s Creation as
sacred. I destroy or do not care about the rest of God’s Creation. I will inflict
pain and destruction to people.
REFLECTION TIME
1. How did my religion influence my identity?
2. Are religion and spirituality my strengths? If yes,
what aspects of my life show this? If no, how can I
make religion and spirituality my strengths?
3. What is my psycho-spirituality in terms of the 3
dimensions of a person?
4. Is your psycho-spirituality wounded? If yes, how can
you heal yourself?
