This document discusses the CEA method for using counseling skills in health education. CEA stands for Catharsis, Education, and Action. The Catharsis step involves identifying the patient's emotionally critical misperception using counseling skills to draw out their emotions. Education aims to educate the patient on what they need to know to correct their misperception. Finally, Action involves setting goals and treatment plans to motivate the patient to take steps based on the education provided. The overall approach uses counseling techniques to address a patient's psychosocial concerns alongside their physical symptoms.

4 BASIC STEPS TO BRING OUT ECM:

way the most?
4. Summarize the ECM and the emotions associated with
it.
