A Detailed Lesson Plan in ED 301
I. Intended Learning Outcomes/Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
Knowledge - Articulate a clear personal definition of teaching by interpreting the defined
principles of teaching that constitute to effecting teaching, including clear learning objectives,
active engagement, and assessment of learning outcomes.
Skills – Design a semi-detailed lesson plan that demonstrates their understanding of the
definition and meaning of teaching and integrating the fundamental principles of effective
teaching, that caters to diverse learning skills and abilities.
Affective - Establish connections between one’s values and beliefs about teaching and the
practical application of teaching principles.

Curriculum Development” that we discussed? The three “Models of Curriculum Development” that we
discussed sir are the following,

Okay since w are done with our topic in Models of
Curriculum Development, for today’s discussion we
will move on to another topic.
B. Development Activity
1. Motivation
Activity: Map me IN!
Time Allotted: 5 minutes
Directions: I have here in the chalkboard a blank mind
map or concept map template, in the center of it is the (Students listening attentively to the instructions)
word “TEACHING”. Now, I am giving strips of paper
randomly to class and what I want you to do is to
write down any words, ideas, or concepts that you think
associate with the word on the center. Afterward, I want
you to paste your strips of paper to the board, then I’ll
be asking some student to share one key idea or
explanation on what is the reason they think the word
you’ve wrote is associated with the word
“TEACHING”.

Teaching, Definition of Teaching, and Principles of
teaching
Okay, in order for you to really deepen your
understanding about our topic, we will be having a
sharing activity.

Time Allotted: 5 minutes

Direction: I will be showing two open-ended questions
and what I want you to do is to find a partner , and
discuss your thoughts and ideas about the questions.

because afterwards I will be calling random pairs to

Okay now, I guess we are now ready for our discussion

To make our discussion even more active we will do it

Direction: The topic will be divided into smaller
subtopics. The class will be divided into 4 original
groups. Each member of the group will be assign to a
subtopic to research and become an expert on together
with other students with the same subtopic, this will be
called the expert group . Afterwards, I will bring back (Students listening attentively to the instructions)
the class together with their original group to teach and
discuss what they’ve learned from the expert group.

Activity 3 : DETECTIVES!
Time allotted: 5 minutes
Direction: I will Provide a case study or scenario
related to teaching. It may involve a specific classroom
situation, a teacher-student interaction, or a curriculum- (Students listening attentively to the instructions)
related challenge.
Now, I will divide the class into 2 groups, analyze the
case study using the principles of teaching. Each group
should identify what teaching methods or strategies
would be most effective in this situation.
Each group presents their analysis to the class,
highlighting the principles they applied and their
reasoning.
Scenario 1: A teacher delivers a long lecture without
incorporating any interactive elements or opportunities
Here are the teaching scenarios
for student participation. The students are passive
listeners and have little opportunity to ask questions or
engage with the material.
Scenario 2: A teacher uses the same teaching methods
and materials for all students in the class, regardless of
their diverse learning styles, abilities, or interests.
I will give you 3 minutes to analyze the given scenarios (Students are discussing together)
and 2 minutes to share to class what you think is lacking
as well as the best solution you think to the case.

Activity : Let’s get this REAL!
Time allotted: 13 minutes
Direction: With the same group, design a semi-detailed lesson plan that incorporates at least
THREE (3) of the teaching principles discussed. Make sure that your lesson plan caters to
diverse learning skills and abilities. You are free to choose on what grade level and subject
matter you want to create. A sample output is given. Good luck!
(There designed semi-detailed lesson plan will be discussed in the class after, each group is
given 2 minutes to explain their output on how they incorporate the principles of teaching. All
outputs will be collected)
V. Assignment
Gather information about Functions of teaching and levels of teaching.
Make sure to include their definition, cite some examples, and give their importance. Write your
answers in your notebook, I will collect it next meeting.
