3. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

The purpose of method statement is to describe the sequence and methodology for MS
Railing works of Godrej Fund Management Building at Indranagar, Bangalore.

4. SCOPE OF WORK

Supply, install and finishing finish the MS Railing in accordance with specification as shown
on the drawings of Godrej Fund Management Building at Indranagar, Bangalore.

5. REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

 Project specifications / BOQ


 Approved Shop Drawings
 Material Approval Request (MAR).
 Technical data sheet & certificates / reports of materials.
 BOQ NO: 1.1,1.2 in BOH area

6. MATERIALS

 38mm dia MS round pipe with 2mm tk - Apollo


 25mm dia MS round pipe with 2mm tk-Apollo
 Enamel paint
 Zin chromate primer
 Anchor fastener
 MS Base plates
 Welding rod

7. DELIVERY STORAGE & HANDLING

 Stack all the MS pipe on a dry & covered place, sheltered from rain.
 Materials received at site shall be checked for the following defects prior to its
acceptance:
a. Pipe of same type but distinctly different colour or texture to be rejected
immediately.
b. Pipe should be free from holes seams, shakes, pockets, stains and other unwanted
effects.
c. Thickness tolerance should be between +/-2mm.

9. MS RAILING WORK METHODOLOGY
 Providing and constructing Staircase Railing 1100mm high with 38mm dia MS pipes
as main runner with 16mm dia pipe as connector to Ballustrade, 25mm dia pipe at 3
levels along the running length of the staircase and vertical supports in 38mm dia MS
pipes @ 1000 mm c/c, the pipes to be 2mm thick with necessary supports, anchor
fasteners, supports. The Railing to be finished with three coats of approved Enamel
Paint from approved make inclusive of all surface preparation, Zinc chromate primer
as specific etc complete. Necessary required anchor fasteners, base plates etc
complete.
 Railing will be Modular type, only final finishing work to be done at site.

10. STAGES OF WORK INSPECTIONS AND MATERIAL DELIVERED TO SITE


INSPECTION:

 Incoming Materials Inspection Request (IMIR) will be raised to inspect once the
materials to site are delivered.
 Work inspection request (WIR) will be raised prior to proceeding for MS Railing
works.
 Work inspection request (WIR) will be raised after completion of MS Railing works.

11. SAFETY HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT

All work and individual safety precautions will be taken by SIPL as per SIPL & Project Site
