METHOD STATEMENT OF HEAVY DUTY SHORING INSTALLATION 1) Existing ground shall be compacted well layer by layer of 300mm throughout

entire area of voided slab to be constructed.


2) Soil bearing test of at least 100kN/m2 to be conducted if necessary.

3) Sole plates of either concrete blocks, steel plates or timber planks to be provided at each vertical support leg. 4) Base jacks to be placed at each of their designated location. 5) Vertical and horizontal members shall be erected portion by portion. 6) Verticality of props shall be ensure at all times. 7) Upon completion of each portion, all locking mechanism by means of cuptwisting shall be ensured accordingly. 8) Main bearers to be placed over top-heads. 9) Lapping of main bearers (RHS 75x125x3mm) shall be over the width of topheads longitudinally to the bridge alignment. 10) No cantilevering of main bearers is allowed.

11) Secondary bearers (SHS 50x50x2.3mm) shall be placed over the main bearers in transverse direction. 12) 13) 14) slab. 15) Soffit form shall be erected and installed accordingly. Rebar works to proceed accordingly. Concreting shall be in 3 stages; soffit slab, vertical walls and finally top Timber props for top slab shall be removed after sufficient curing period.

16) All heavy duty shoring components shall be dismantled after 28 days of curing.
