ME30005-Course-Plan For 2023

The course covers the basic concepts and modes of heat transfer including conduction, radiation, and convection before mid-semester. Topics include Fourier's law, the general heat conduction equation, 1D and 2D steady conduction, extended surfaces, unsteady conduction, and basic radiation concepts. After mid-semester, the course covers convection heat transfer including boundary layers, internal and external flows, natural convection, and boiling/condensation. The course concludes with an introduction to heat exchangers and their analysis methods. Students are evaluated through assignments, a midterm, and a final exam.
