Gasket Storage Conditions

This document provides storage conditions and lifetimes for various types of gasket materials: 1. It lists the minimum and maximum applied temperatures for different gasket materials including NBR, NBRHT, HNBR, EPDM, HTEPDM, CR, VB, and VG. 2. The initial storage period before inspection/retesting is 3 years for most materials and 5 years for EPDM/HTEPDM/VB/VG. The extended storage period after initial inspection is 2 years for most and 3 years for EPDM/HTEPDM/VB/VG. 3. Proper storage conditions include a dry, dust-free room at 0-40°

Note:

1. Initial storage period: the longest period of time that a

properly packaged rubber product can be stored under
speci ed conditions from the date of manufacture
before the sample needs to be inspected or retested;
2. Extended storage period: After the initial storage
period, properly packaged rubber products need to
undergo further inspection or retest the storage time.

Storage Conditions:

1. The storage room is dry, dust-free, and moderately ventilated; avoid direct sunlight. It is recommended to use red or
orange shades for windows in the storage place;
2. The storage temperature is 0-40℃. If it is transported at low temperature, it must be thawed at a room temperature of
20℃, and care must be taken during transportation and operation to prevent deformation or damage due to the
hardening of the rubber;
3. Ozone equipment, uorescent lamps or strong arti cial power sources with high ultraviolet content, mercury vapor, high-
voltage electrical appliances, electric motors, etc. should not be used in the storage room;
4. The storage of rubber gaskets should avoid their deformation as much as possible. The stored rubber gaskets should
avoid heavy pressure, and should not be stretched or compressed; it is forbidden to hang the rubber gaskets with
strings, iron wires, etc;
5. Conditionally use bags or boxes for storage and the packaging materials must not contain substances that have a
degrading e ect on rubber, so as to reduce air circulation and slow down aging;
6. Separately store gaskets of di erent materials.
