MODULE 2: TEACHING INTERNSHIP AND ITS PHASES-1

Directions: Research through the internet and other sources.

Task 1. Phases of Face-to-Face Internship. In your own understanding, what should be done in
each of the given phase of internship. Describe what do you think should happen in each
phase.

T1.1 Phase 1 – Orientation Session (5pts)

 In the orientation session there is always a practicum supervisor, cooperating principal


and the cooperating teacher. They are the one who orient the coming intern in which
the student teacher would learn different techniques and to know how to handle pupils
in different situations. In the orientation session the coming interns would learn also
about the pros and cons of being a student teacher inside the classroom.

T1.2 Phase 2 – Observation and building relationship. (5pts)

 In the phase 2, we student teacher or interns are able to observe the classes. We can
observe different behavior of the pupils before, during and after the class. Also, building
a relationship with our cooperating teacher is a nice way to work. Wherever we have
work, we should always remember that building a good relationship with the mentor,
manager or co-workers gives us peace of mind of everything we do in all day. We are
comfortable to do such things if we have good relationships to them. Lastly, building
good relationship with the learners is the best way of the student teacher to learn from
them and to know his/her pupils for the short time of duty. If we have the good
relationships with the learner, the learner will trust us to share his/her story.
T1.3 Phase 3 – On site tasks. (5pts)

 In the phases 3, these are the task that we have to finish during the face to face
internship. We have our duty or responsibility that to comply before we graduate. First,
we have to write a learning plan for our demonstration and find the appropriate
strategy for that topic or subject. Second, we have to create an instructional materials
that we will use during the demonstration for us to have a props and for the pupils
understand easily the topic because lower level are a visual learner. Third, every after
the discussion we should have to gave an evaluation. This worksheets or seatwork will
determined the pupils understanding base on the topic or discussion given. Lastly, this
are the routine or the task that we do everyday such as let the pupils answer their bell
work or practice their cursive writing in reading, prayer, and energizer.

T1.4 Phase 4 – Final demonstrations and accomplishing of exit forms (5pts).

 In the phase 4, these are the time that we student teacher are able to demonstrate our
assigned subject and topic to be demonstrated infront of the pupils. By presenting our
demonstration, our cooperating teacher would observes us and had a feedback or
comment after the demonstration. This demonstration would help us to accomplish our
task as student teacher before we graduate because this is a big help for us to become a
future teacher.

Task 2. Complete this statement. “I need to undergo teaching internship because….” (pts5)

 I need to undergo teaching internship because it gives the opportunities to apply what I
have learned in actual classroom practice and I know I will acquire more knowledge in
taking up teaching internships. I can get a taste of what it's like to teach in a classroom
and get the chance to work with an experienced teacher who will serve as my mentor by
participating in a teaching internship. I will have the chance to observe how the school is
run and receive feedback on my teaching abilities to determine where I can make
improvements.
