2. Câu chẻ dạng bị động
Lưu ý: Với danh từ chỉ vật, chúng ta dùng đại từ quan hệ “who”, với danh từ chỉ người, ta
dùng đại từ quan hệ “that”.
- Students usually forget homework. (Học sinh thường hay quên bài tập về nhà.)
=> It is homework that is usually forgotten. (Đó là bài tập về nhà mà thường hay bị
quên.)
- John’s friends gave him a lot of presents.( Bạn bè của John đã tặng anh ấy rất nhiều
quà.)
=> It was John who was given a lot of presents by his friend. (Chính là John là người
được bạn mình tặng rất nhiều quà.)
4. What
“What” là loại câu câu chẻ đặc biệt với thông tin cần nhấn mạnh thường nằm ở cuối câu. Mệnh
đề với “what” được đặt ở đầu câu, “what” cũng có thể được thay thế bởi các từ để hỏi khác như:
“why, where, when, how“.
Where Mary wants to go every holiday is the beach.
Nơi Mary muốn đến mỗi kỳ nghỉ là bãi biển.
What Jane likes to drink for breakfast is always chocolate milk.
Cái mà Jane thích uống vào bữa sáng luôn là sữa sô cô la.
5. Các loại khác
- Câu chẻ dùng “wh” đảo ngược
A high score is what every student always wants to have.
- Câu chẻ với “all”
All I want for this Christmas is you.
- Câu chẻ với “there”
There is a special book he really wants to buy.
