SECTION 1 - DESCRIPTION
1.1. Sensor Overview
The DSM700 will replace the DSM600 , the frame are exactly the same and can be use for the DSM700. The DSM700 is made of a Sensor and a Transmitter mounted on the top of the sensor itself. The transmitter will generate 3 independent signals, 2 currents and 1 pulse. Those 3 outputs can be configure with a matrix which is available via a software (Prolink II version 1.2). The sensor is installed in the mud circuit of the Geoservices degasser GZG to avoid cuttings.
SECTION 2 - INSTALLATION
2.1. On GZG
1. Switch off the degasser GZG 2. Put the sensor support 5 vertically on degasser frame 1 towards the pump from bottom to top as indicated by the arrow on the side of the sensor. 3. Block the sensor support with nuts. 4. Disconnect the hose-rubber from the degasser tank 2, then connect it to the bottom 3 of the sensor. 5. Connect the output 4 of the sensor on the degasser tank 2 with a hose rubber. 6. Switch on the degasser.
Notes: If impossible to install the sensor on degasser frame 1, hang it close to the degasser, vertically from bottom to top as indicated by the arrow on the sensor. The output 4 of the sensor must be higher than the degasser tank 2. You need to avoid air going inside the sensor when you will switch off the GZG pump.
The sensor is supplied with 24VDC The sensor has 3 outputs: 1 x pulse 2 x 4-20mA
A serial link is connected on the transmitter to check config the sensor (the default configuration is already done at the Control Department)

4-20 mA Ouptut
Those 2 outputs are for measuring the mud weight and the Temperature. The 4-20 mA outputs are passives ones (to be Intrinsic safety). So you need to power them up to recover the 420 mA signal. (you need to connect the output 1 and 2 as a normal 4-20 mA sensor like a Probe sensor).

Pulse Ouptut
The pulse output can be use to have the flow signal. The transmitter is sending a frequency signal .This signal can be read on the ALS with a frequency/current converter. The frequency ouput has been configu re to have 100 Hz(100 pulse /sec) for a flow of 10 liter/min.

If you put a 500 Ohm resistor between 14 and 15 of the converter you have a voltage signal so you can connect on channel 1 to 7 like this 4 + 2-

Choose run this program from its current location then click [OK] Press [YES] Then give the answers bellows during the installation. Prolink II wellcome [next] Prolink II License Agreement [Yes] Prolink II connection information [next] Choose destination location [next] Select program folder [ next] Start copying files [ next] Installshield wizard complete [finish] A new Icon will appear on your desktop :
Connection Not OK Invert the connection going to the Black Box (RS 485 to RS 232 converter)
Then try again to connect. Connection OK, this Output screen will come up.
Prolink/Calibration/zero calibration When you do the calibration of the zero , the sensor need to be full with mud , and mud should not move (pump of the GZG off) . Click on [zero] , the calibration will be perform on the period enter on the Zero time windows (keep it to 20 secondes)
During the calibration , the calibration progress led will come red, as shown below.
When the sensor is checked at the Control Department, the configurations (see paragraph 3.2 for sensor configurations) are saved on a file. This file is on the CD and named configuration_master. If you need to reinstall the original configuration follow those steps. -Copy configuration_master file on your PC harddrive -on the Prolink main page go to File/Send to Xmtr from file A windows will open highlight the configuration_master file then click on the button [OPEN] , you will have a progress bar then a similar screen will appear ,click [load transmitter] then the configuration uploading will be
