The document discusses teaching and learning activities for a module on using open-ended tools to facilitate language learning. It includes an activity where the learner identifies productivity software that can help achieve English curriculum competencies. The learner also reflects on what they learned, including how technology can engage students, encourage collaboration, and enable personalized learning when integrated into lessons. However, simply using technology is not enough - it must be implemented based on Universal Design for Learning principles like providing multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement. The learner discusses supporting students and reflecting on lesson goals. Overall the document covers incorporating technology into lessons and curricula based on educational principles.

II. SELF-EVALUATION/SYNTHESIS OF THE MODULE

Write a summary of the things you have learned in this module. Use the space
provided.

The focus of this course is on incorporating technology into current curricula. Open-
ended tools or productivity software programs are examples of ICT tools that assist teachers
in making their student’s learning clear, effective, motivating, ang meaningful. The use of
digital technology in the classroom ca increase student engagement, help teachers come
upwith better lesson plans, and enable personalized learning, according to what I’ve learnt
from this module.
In addition virtual classes and other technological tools can not only make learning
more engaging, but also encourage collaboration and inquisitiveness and enabling teachers
to gather statistics on students performance. I have also discovered that technology may be
used for educational purposes as well as for interstate communication. What educatores do
with it and how they employ it to best serve their student’s needs will determine if
educational technology lives up to its potential.
By carefully reviewing the DepEd curriculum guide in English and was able to satisfy
multiple competencies at various grade levels, the module has definitely pushed my critical
thinking and analysis. Making a typical learning plan has taught me a lot, and I’m sure to
apply it throughout the duration of this course. I learned how to create my own learning
plan with ICT integration. Making a standard lesson plan was something I had never done
before, so integrating ICT into the class lesson

itself proved to be challenging at first. It is tough to create interactive exercises that would
motivate students to participate in class, but I must build the learning plan because it is one
of the requirements for this program.
To be quite honest, this course allowed me to practice using technology, which is
crucial in the 21st century environment we live in today. I was able to discover the best
techniques for creating interactive activities for both teachers and students. I’ve gained
knowledge about the significance of teaching instructional materials and how crucial it is to
maintain student’s interest.

MODULE 4- Producing Learning Resources using Technology Tools

I. Activities/Tasks.

Activity 1: Understanding UDL in the Context of Language Teaching.

1. How will the following UDL principles guide you in delivering your learning plan?
Learning Plan Topic:
Extemporaneous Speech
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, students are expected to;
a. explain the definition of extemporaneous speech;
b. identify all the six differnt types of speech transitions;
c. apply the seven steps in preparing a successful extemporaneous speech; and
d. deliver an extemporaneous speech for not more than three minutes.
UDL PRINCIPLES PRACTICAL APPLICATION TO THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF MY LEARNING PLAN
Equitable use Make the design appealing, interactive, and
interesting to both teacher and students.
Flexibility in use provide a choice in method of use, Facilitate
the students learning accuracy and
precisions, provide adaptabillity to both
students and teacher.
Simple and intuitive use Accommodate a wide range of literacy and
langauge skills. Provide effectice prompting
and feedback during the task completion.
Perceptible Information Use different modes like vedios and verbal
for the presentation of essential information.
Tolerance of error Discourage unconscious in tasks that require
vigilance.
Low Physical Effort allow uer to maintain a neutral body
position. Minimize sustained physical effort.
Size and Space for approach and use Provide adequate space for the use of
assistive devices or personal assistance.
Provide a clear line of sight to importance for
any seated or standing user.

2. Learning technologies are integral part of a UDL approach. However, simply using the
technologgy in the language classroom is not implementing UDL. How do you understand
this statement in the light of the three principles of UDL?
Provide multiple means of The multiple means of representation is to recall some
representation background knowledge that students might already
have on a certain topic to improve their understanding
of what they’ve learned so far.
Provide multiple means of action Provide learners with multiple means of action and
expression expression. This means focuses on offering learners
diverse ways to express their understanding and skill
development as a result of course experiences, by
providing a number of ways for learners to

demonstrate their new knowledge.
Provide multiple means of multiple means in engagement refers to different
engagement opportunities for students involvement like interactive
activities, group discussion boards. This principle
reflects the idea that students have differnet
motivations to engage in learning.

3. How an langauge teacher and administrators best support the development of UDL in
learning enviroment?
A langauge teacher and administrators best support the development of UDL in
learning environment in a way in which teachers can or may talk with individual students
about lesson goals, students are encouraged to reflect on the choices they made in class and
whether they met the gaols. A teacher and adminstrators can support also in the
development of UDL by identifying the course and evidence-based teaching practices.
Describe the course, learning objectives, and content. It is important to developed or
emprovized the UDL in learning environment because it can enhances an inclusive learning
environment.

II. SELF-EVALUATIONS/SYNTHESIS
Write a reflection essay focusing on the strenghts and weaknesses of your Microteaching
and the positives and negatives of incorporating in teaching.

Knowing that one of the major requirments in Technology for teaching and learning
2 or known as TTL2 is demo teaching. It makes me feel afraid because it was my greatest
weakness to speak in front of many people. What makes me feel nervous in front is that I’m
not that good in speaking especially using English Language but I’m an English major
students.
First and forever, I would love to thank Sir A for giving us the oppotunity to
experience being a teacher for one day. On 10 th May 2023, was my day to apply the learning
plan I designed in real setting. Therefore, I have to present my learning plan that I have
prepared. I have chosen one topic which is extemporaneous speech it focus on students
learning about public speaking and also focusing on listening and speaking skills. I would like
to challenge myself with the difficulties that I have faced, and I know not many of us put this
as as targets to aims. Speaking as we know is a major problem in learning English for second
language. So here, I really liked to have the real situation of teaching at school and challenge
myelf if I win over my weaknesses.
There was only one skills that I was focusing on and it went with three levels
respectively. For the first level, it was to define extemporaneous speech. For the second
level, use the speech transition in delivering speech. For the third one, was to apply the
seven steps in creating a successful extemporaneous speech. And lastly, was to present a
speech. As stated on my lesson plan, we can refer the learning outcomes and students prior
knowledge, teaching aids, generic skills and moral values that have devoted in the lesson.
I admit, that it was my first time delivering the lesson plan that I made and I have
faced many problems and it kept encountered again. Major problem was choosing the best
activity for certain stage. It was not hard to the idea, but it was

hard when you have to rethink whether the activity chosen is suitable for student’s level,
syllabus, time and space and many factors that coulld be related in the lesson proper. So the
activities that really were available that was limited.
Nevertheless, the teaching was running smoothly and the probles were solved by
me. I had satisfy with my effort even I have not done my best and I hope I can do better next

time. The teaching process has really helped in developing my skills in teaching. I have
recognized my strengths, weaknesses and a few improvements to be implemented in the
future.
The strenghts of my teaching basically held on my chosen activities. As you can refer
on my lesson plan sheet, I have provided interesting event for teaching and learning
activities which were making a circle, listen, singing. If I was the students, I would have never
been bored in the class. kids generally portrayed with playing games, having fun and easy
lost attention. Therefore, the activities were prepared to tackle those problems from
occuring in my class.
My biggest weakness was being afraid of public speaking. On the first section that I
tought is very shameful it s becuase of the word of fear I deliver my lesson in a way in which
my students confused about my instruct.
