September - December 2022

COURSE ASSESSMENTS

Students will be placed in pairs (2’s) and required to:

- Prepare oral presentations and
- Submit a written project report.

The area for research for this year is, “Competence in Research and Evidence-Based Practice and students’
perception of the application in clinical care” – students developed individual proposals with specific research
problems and objectives relating to this topic in Year 3

✓ Students will use data collected via Ourvle survey among year 4 students from MONA, WJC, EXED,
BTCC, KNOX, SVG and STK
✓ Data will be downloaded and transformed into SPSS files
✓ Students will be sent the data related to their objectives for analysis and write their project reports

GUIDELINES
Please ensure the written assignment is:
1. prepared using the APA style, 7th edition, (Please review)
2. written in Times New Roman or Calibri font, size 12
3. all margins should be 1 inch”
4. of length not exceeding 4000 words (or 14 pages), excluding, title page, table of contents, consent form, data
collection instrument and references. Please include word count on the title page of document
5. well organized following the outline given – title page, table of contents, abstract, introduction,
literature review, purpose & objectives, hypotheses, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, references
and appendices
a. the literature review should be well organized, demonstrates logical sequencing and structure;
organized thematically (around a topic or issue), methodologically (type of research) or
chronologically (publication date, trend)
6. guided by clearly stated research objectives and hypotheses developed through the review of the literature.
7. focused in relation to the topic/research problem, demonstrate synthesis of the existing evidence and
understanding of the research issues as they relate to the topic.
8. submitted through turnitin – the site will be given to students on OurVLE

NOTE: Presentation of the work of any other person as the student’s own work including plagiarism from
published, unpublished and/or electronic sources is considered misconduct in respect of which a student may
