How To Configure A DLink in The Field
Take the AP out of the box and power it up. Plug the Ethernet cable into a stand alone
computer or laptop (NOT the DRX-1 console). The power and 2.5GHz lights should be
active after a short time.
Configure the network card of the computer to have a subnet of 192.168.0.102. This is
accomplished by going into network connections, selecting the network card you are
plugged into, and clicking Properties.
Once in the properties box, scroll down and double click on “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”
In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties box, tell the computer to use IP address
192.168.0.102. Subnet 255.255.255.0. Click OK. Click OK in the Properties box.
Click close in the network settings dialog box. The new settings will now be active.

Open Internet explorer. In the address bar, enter the IP address of 192.168.0.50. This is
the default IP address of the AP. You should get a screen similar to the one below. This
is the log in screen for the access point. Log into the access point with the following
credentials:
User Name: admin
Password : (leave blank)

Once logged into the access point it is necessary to update the firmware. Make sure you
update the firmware BEFORE the configuration file or else you will need to start over.
Under the maintenance tab at the top, select Firmware and SSL Certification Upload.
Browse to the firmware file provided (should be copied to your hard drive or thumb
drive).
Once the file is selected, click on the “Upload” button. The screen should change and a
255 second countdown will begin as the new firmware is installed.
Once the Firmware is installed, you will need to log into the access point again. Use the
same credentials supplied above.

After logging into the access point, click on the configuration file tab under the
maintenance tab at the top.
Browse to the configuration file provided. Click upload when the correct file is selected.
