Installation of Lighting System Fans and Receptacles
The scope covers installation of all equipment necessary for a complete lighting system. Equipment shall include lighting panels, lighting distribution boards, lighting fixtures, cables switches, fans receptacles, conduits, wires and miscellaneous hardware necessary for complete lighting work. 2. Except for corrosive areas all other indoor areas shall be illuminated using fluorescent tube fixtures of' the industrial type, complete with reflectors. In corrosive areas like battery room corrosion resistant fixtures shall be supplied. Makes and types of all lighting equipment will be subject to approval by the Engineer. High bay type lighting fixtures shall be proposed for illumination of specified areas. 3. Lighting system required for all the indoor areas shall be deemed to be included in contractor's scope. b) REQUIREMENTS 1. The Contractor shall supply, install, test and commission a complete system of lighting and power receptacles in accordance with approved lighting drawings and in accordance with relevant Indian Standard and Indian Electricity Rules. 2. In addition to the above, the installation shall conform to other relevant standard codes of practice and Indian Electricity Rules. 3. Wiring for fixtures, fans and receptacles shall be colour coded so as to enable easy identifications of phase and neutral conductors. 4. All distribution boards shall be marked "lighting" of "Power" and marked with the voltage and number of phases of supply. When two or more distribution boards are to be placed adjacent to each other, they shall be suitably interlocked so that it is not possible to open more than one distribution board at a time or the distribution boards shall be spaced at two wires intervals. 5. Receptacele (socket outlets) and lighting fixtures shall be fed from different circuits. LIGHTING INSTALLATION - LIGHTING PANEL / DISTRIBUTION BOARDS INSTALLATION: Installation work shall include mounting of lighting panels/ distribution boards at location shown on relevant approved drawings. All work and supply items including civil items required for mounting shall be included in the Contractor's scope of installation. All work and supply items necessary for of completing earthing connections shall be included in the scope of work. Termination of incoming cables shall be part of this work. LIGHTING FIXTURES, FANS, RECEPTACLE ETC
(a)
INSTALLATION: The scope of installation work shall include mounting of lighting fixtures, receptacle units, fans, etc., at locations shown on relevant approved drawings. All work and supply items associated with installation such as provision and fixing of wooden blocks, ball sockets, hooks etc., as
required, drilling holes in walls or any, civil work including erection of scaffoldig, provision of ladders etc., shall form part of the contractor's work.
(b) 1.
WIRING:
Work shall comprise wiring from lighting panel in suitably sized PVC conduits, supported on walls and ceilings etc., installation of light control switches and receptacles housed in stove enameled steel, boxes, earthing with 14 SWG copper conductor continuously run outside the conduit and clamped at every 1000 mm interval for earthing where ever necessary as specified by the Engineer-in-charge. 2. Supply of all the items for the work detailed above such as 1100V Grade, 2.5/4 Sq. mm. copper conductor PVC insulated wires, 5A/15A switches, PVC conduits and accessories (such as junction boxes, tees, elbows etc.,) suitable stove enameled sheet steel boxes fabricated from 16 SWG sheet and complete with gasket, knockouts for conduit entries, earthing terminal with bolts, nut and washer 14 SWG copper earthing wire, flexible conduit etc., shall be included in the contractor's scope. all work necessary for fixing of boxes, conduits etc., together with supply of necessary, hardware shall also be included in the Contractor's work. SPECIFIC INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS: LAYING OF 1.1 KV POWER CABLES AND LIGHTING CABLES: I The 1.1 KV PVC 3.5 core for 433V supply have to be laid in ground directly. The cable take off is from gantry in 11 KV / 433V sub-station and where contractor has to connect the cables by suitable connectors and supports. The cables enter the Control room below switch gear floor level and runs in tray for connecting to the incoming switchgears situated in the pump room. The cables for connection to capacitors from switchgear units are to be drawn down with channel support and then laid and drawn on trays to respective cable terminal boxes of capacitor banks. The cables for connection to motors are taken from respective switchgear units on trays to respective motor terminal boxes.' Proper supports are to be made for holding the cable at motor terminal box. The control cables from AC/DC distribution board and from switchgears are to be laid to the tray for connection to motor terminal blocks and other equipment, similar to power cables. The cables for lighting and power receptacle circuits in the Gallary are to be laid through exposed (surface) PVC conduits. Contractor shall furnish two sets for marked up layout drawings after installation, indicating altered cable routes and location of straight joints. The cable schedule have to be supplied by the contractor for Engineers approval and the jointing shall be done strictly in accordance with the schedules. The cable length shall be cut judiciously minimizing the wastage. Where specified cable layouts are not shown in the drawing the contractor shall route them as per the instruction of the Engineer. Cable laying shall include termination on both ends with suitable connectors.
The A.C. distribution boards are to be 'located adjacent to the switchgear near the wall where as the switchgear is located in quadrature with motors at a higher floor level. The cables for A.C. main distribution board to lighting panel are to be laid on tray below switchgear floor.
