1. Introduction
The i-Dixel One Data Viewer Plus and the One Data Viewer are single user applications for viewing CT data exported
from the i-Dixel database. It is designed to only open the data with which it was exported.
The One Data Viewer also has several image enhancement features to allow for easier viewing of the exported data. It
also supports length and angle measurement annotations.

NOTE
Service provided only for registered i-Dixel 3DX users.
This manual is for i-Dixel One Data Viewer Plus.
Image adjustment and measurement functions are available only in i-Dixel One Data Viewer Plus.

Standard Terms Used in this Manual

To avoid needless repetition, the meaning of terms related to operations using the mouse and other terms are defined
below.

 Click (Left Click)

Locate the mouse pointer on the object and then click the left button on the mouse once.
For example, if the instruction is “click the file,” put the mouse pointer on the file and click the left button once.

 Right Click
Click the button on the right side of the mouse

 Double Click
Click the mouse button twice in quick succession. For example, “Double click the icon,” means to move the
mouse’s pointer onto the icon and then click the left button twice in quick succession. It is possible to adjust the
length of time between clicks which will distinguish between a “double click” and two, separate single clicks. Go
to the Windows Control Panels.

 Drag and drop with the mouse

This means to locate the mouse’s pointer on top of an icon or other object, hold down the left button and then move
the icon or object to some other place. Release the left button when the object is at the desired location. For
example, this is used to put an image in the image Arrangement Window.

 Windows Desk Top

This refers to the view in the monitor right after Windows has been started up where various program icons are
displayed.
Double click a program icon to start it up. With Windows, more than one program can be used at the same time.

 Pop-up Menu
A menu which is displayed by clicking with the right mouse button.

 Radio Button

18 ODV Operation 2010-06-21

5. Histogram Controls and Usage
*The histogram is only available for the i-Dixel One Data Viewer Plus software.

5.1 Adjusting the Histogram

Drag the blue line to rotate it up or down. This will determine the data field for the image. The center of the
rotation for the blue lines is the point where the vertical and horizontal green lines cross.
The range of the gray level for the green lines is from 0 (black) to 255 (white).

You can adjust the brightness of the image by dragging the green
lines separately or by dragging the point where they cross to
move both of them.
Dragging the blue line adjusts the contrast.
The combined use of these lines defines the input and output data
for the image.

In the histogram shown at the left, the original range for the gray
level was from 0 to 255, but it has been changed to from 20 to
255.

All pixels above the Data Level maximum will be saturated to

white and all pixels lower than the Data Level minimum will be
saturated to black. You may also set a minimum or maximum
threshold for the histogram by dragging the leftmost or rightmost
edges of the window.
In the histogram shown at the left, the maximum value is 96 as
shown by the red line. Regardless of the angle of the blue line,
all pixels greater than 96 will be white.
Also, the vertical blue line at the left side sets the minimum value
at 22. All pixels with a value less than 22 will be black.
Click the Reset button to restore the original image.

19 ODV Operation 2010-06-21

5.2 Other Features of the Histogram
The histogram has additional features to make balance adjustment easier.

The plus [+] and minus [-] buttons allow you to zoom in on the histogram to look at a particular region in greater detail.
The zoom center is the point at which the two green lines cross. The horizontal range beneath the window will change
to indicate the new display range.

In the example below, the data level of the original histogram has been changed to from 64 to 191. This will not have
any effect on the contrast setting.

There are three buttons at the bottom of the histogram:

Auto Button
Click this button for optimum contrast depending on the data distribution.

i-Dixel Button
Click this button will restore the histogram values which were originally exported. These are the default values used
when the application starts up.

Reset Button
This restores the image to the way it was before any adjustments were made.

20 ODV Operation 2010-06-21

5.3 Reverse Black and White
Tilt the blue line down to reverse black and white in the slice image.

Negative Tilt

The result of tilting the blue line down is shown below.

a text box.
Cancel the measurement before completing it by selecting another tool from the menu, clicking another tool on the
Tool Bar, or right-clicking the mouse.

A completed measurement is shown at the left.

The Angle tool will automatically change back to the Select
