Specific Topic Synopsis

The following synopsis will be utilized by the teachers for the lesson plan development and
integration of the specific topic on the curriculum

Child Sexual Abuse Prevention*

● Touching Rules
○ No one has the right to touch your private body parts.
○ If someone older or powerful than you tries to touch your private body parts, you
have the right to say NO.
○ It is never your fault if someone tries to touch/has touched your private body
parts.
○ Never keep secrets if someone breaks the touching rules.

● Private Body Parts

○ Our private body parts are those covered by underwear.
○ It is ok to call the private body parts by their direct names.

● Three Kinds of Touches

○ Safe touches - done in the non-private parts of the body, and does not cause hurt
or harm.
○ Unsafe touches - done in the private body parts.
○ Confusing touches - done in the non-private parts of the body, and causes
feelings of confusion or uneasiness.

● Early Warning Signs

○ The physical signals our body gives out when we experience unsafe or confusing
touches.

● Saying NO and Personal Emergency Situations

○ We have the right to say NO if someone makes us feel uncomfortable, confused
or unsafe.
○ If we say NO, and the other person still makes us feel unsafe, we have the right to
do anything in order to feel safe again.

● Telling a Trusted Adult

○ Trusted adults are those who we can talk to about our problems.
○ There are various trusted adults, they can be found in our homes, school, etc.
○ We must tell a trusted adult if we experienced unsafe situations until a trusted
adult believes and helps us.

CyberSafety*
● Empathy and Online to Offline Consequence
○ Every action you do online, potentially affects an actual person.
○ Everything we do online, has potential real world consequences to ourselves and
others.

● The Concept of Online Strangers

○ Strangers are people who we do not know.
○ Online strangers are the same as offline strangers.
○ The way we interact with online strangers should be the same as how we interact
with offline strangers.

● Recognizing Online Red Flags

○ If someone interacts with us in a violent or sexual way online, then this is a red
flag. It means we must find ways to get away from the situation and tell trusted
adults about it.
○ Even if an online situation is not violent or sexual, but it makes us feel confused,
uncomfortable or afraid, then consider this as an online red flag.

● Digital Footprint and Protecting Sensitive and Private Information

○ Anything you share online, has the potential to stay online for a long time. Think
of the possible personal consequences if you share these information online.
○ There are personal information which can be shared publicly, since these do not
have the potential to cause you harm if other people get a hold of these
information.
○ There are personal information which are sensitive, since we only share these to
people we trust.
○ There are personal information which should be considered as private, since
sharing these online carry high risks if these become public (eg photos of your
private body parts)
○ Before getting or sharing your or other’s personal information, always think of
consent.
