Acknowledgment
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the
people who supported and encouraged me throughout my work immersion
journey, as I created this portfolio. Their unwavering belief in my abilities,
constant encouragement, and guidance have been instrumental in my personal
and professional growth.
First and foremost, I want to acknowledge my family and friends who have
been my pillars of support. Their encouragement, motivation, and understanding
have been invaluable, and I am grateful for their unwavering belief in my
potential. Their words of wisdom, love, and encouragement have kept me
motivated during challenging times, and I am thankful for their presence in my
life.
Lastly, I want to thank all the other individuals who have supported me in
various ways during my work immersion, including mentors, advisors, and other
stakeholders. Your contributions, guidance, and encouragement have been
invaluable, and I am thankful for your belief I my abilities.
I am grateful for the support of my family, friends, and teachers who have
encouraged and guided me throughout this experience. I am also thankful to the
companies and professionals who welcomed me into their workplaces and shared
their knowledge and expertise with me.
Another aspect of the poem that I found particularly interesting was the
use of repetition. You repeated the word "maybe" several times throughout the
poem, which added a sense of uncertainty and hesitation to the piece. This
repetition helped to convey the feelings of doubt and insecurity that you were
experiencing at the time, and it made the poem feel more personal and
introspective.
One of the most powerful moments in the poem was the line "So my eyes
could sweep away the pains, / That made my heart feel heavy and broken."
This line effectively conveyed the speaker's desire to find relief from their pain
and struggles, and it created a sense of empathy and understanding with the
audience. It's a powerful moment that helps to tie the entire poem together and
bring a sense of resolution to the piece.
One of the most important insights to keep in mind when writing a poem
about someone who has inspired you is to capture the essence of that person
and what makes them special to you. In my poem, I succeeded in doing just that
by using powerful and vivid language to convey my feelings about my favorite
teacher. By using metaphor and other literary devices, I was able to create a
multi-dimensional portrayal of your teacher that honors and celebrates their
unique qualities.
Another key insight when writing a poem about a person who has inspired
you is to use concrete examples and details to help your reader connect with
your poem and understand why this person is so important to you. In my poem,
I do this through my descriptions of how my teacher helped me through difficult
times, and how they have been a constant source of support and encouragement.
It's also important to note that there are different forms of poetry, each
with their own strengths and weaknesses. Experimenting with different forms
can help you find the best way to express your thoughts and emotions. For
example, you might find that free verse allows you to express yourself more
freely, while a structured form like a sonnet or haiku can challenge you to distill
your thoughts and feelings into a more precise and concise form. By exploring
different forms of poetry, you can find the one that best suits your voice and your
message.
The creation of the poem and spoken poetry pieces in my portfolio was a
deeply personal and creative process. It allowed me to express my emotions,
thoughts, and reflections in a unique and artistic way. It was a challenging yet
fulfilling endeavor that required creativity, reflection, and self-expression.
Through these pieces, I was able to convey my admiration for my previous
teacher and reflect on my own journey and experiences during the work
immersion program.
The journal in making the spoken poetry was a valuable document that
captured my creative process and reflected my thought process, challenges, and
decisions during the creation of the spoken poetry piece. It allowed me to
critically analyze my work, make revisions, and document my reflections on the
creative and reflective thinking process.
