Adding Graphical Elements to Your Presentation:


Insert Images:
Insert Image/Pictures from Your Hard Drive:
a. Insert a new slide into your presentation. Choose a layout that uses a content or picture
placeholder.
b. Click the Pictures icon in the placeholder. Alternatively, click the Pictures button on the
Insert tab of the Ribbon.
c. Find the picture on your computer. Select it and click Insert.

Insert Online Pictures:
With Online Pictures, you can search for pictures online or insert them from One Drive and
other online storage.

a. Insert a new slide into your presentation. Choose a layout that uses a content or picture
placeholder.
b. Click the Online Pictures icon in the placeholder.
c. Alternatively, click the Online Pictures icon on the Insert tab of the Ribbon.
d. If the picture is stored on One Drive, click the Browse button to see your files and folders on
One Drive.
e. If the picture is stored on Face book or Flicker, click the icons at the bottom of the Insert
Pictures dialog box to connect to your account.
f. If you don’t already have an image, you can search for pictures using Bing Image Search.

Insert Shapes:
Before you can format shapes, first you have to insert them onto a slide.

a. To create a shape, go to the Home tab or the Insert tab and click a shape in the Shapes
gallery.
b. Click and drag on the slide to draw the shape. You can press Shift on your keyboard while
you click and drag on the slide to create perfect circles (use the oval shape) and squares (use
the rectangle shape).
c. Drag any selection handle to resize the shape. You can press Shift while dragging a corner
handle to maintain the shape’s aspect ratio. In other words, this keeps the shape’s
proportion intact.
d. Type the height in the Size group on the Drawing Tools Format tab and then press Enter.
e. Type the width in the Size group on the Drawing Tools Format tab and then press Enter.
f. Click the dialog box launcher in the Size group to open the Format Shape pane to the Size &
Properties settings, where you can input specific values or percentages to size the shape.
g. Click the rotation handle and drag your mouse right or left to rotate a shape. You can press
Shift while rotating if you want to constrain the rotation to 15-degree increments.

h. Or type the rotation value in the Format Shape pane. You can type a negative value if you
want to rotate the shape counterclockwise.
i. Or use the Rotation tools on the Drawing Tools Format tab or in the Arrange tools on the
Home tab to rotate or flip the shape.
