Business Area Creation in SAP

Business areas in SAP are organizational units that correspond to business segments or areas of responsibility within a company. They allow companies to separate financial data by region, business line, or other categorization. To create a business area, users navigate to transaction code OX03 via the SAP Reference IMG and enter master data and other details, which are then stored in table TGSBT. This process allows companies to effectively manage financial reporting for different parts of their organization.
