Ce168p-2 - CW No. 5 (S-Curve)

This document provides details for the Project CE work breakdown structure including activities, durations, costs, and predecessors. It also includes questions to analyze the project's schedule and cost performance. The questions ask the student to: 1) Develop an S-curve showing the planned cost expenditure over time. 2) Given actual costs and schedule performance at week 4, calculate the earned value, estimate future cost to complete, and estimate at completion. 3) Analyze and report on the project's cost and schedule performance to date, and create an earned value analysis graph.

[QUESTIONS - CONTINUATION]
1. [10points] Develop an S-curve (time; weeks vs. cost; PHP) for the baseline cost of Project CE using
the provided project details.

Notes/Assumptions:
• Assume six(6) working days per week
• Each percentage indicates the total expenditure by the end of each week.
• Assume no constraints are present and the expenditures will follow as per earliest possible
schedule (or based on early start & finish).

2. [10 points each] Scenario. Project CE is now in the beginning of your 4th week and upon your
evaluation the cumulative ACTUAL cost is at Php 2,660,000.00 Given that your Schedule
Performance Index (SPI) = 1.18. Answer the following questions:
2.1. What is the earned value cost of the project right now?
2.2. Assuming that the COST variance experienced so far in the project will continue, how much
more money will it take to complete the project?
2.3. If the variance experienced so far were to stop, what is the project’s estimate at completion?
2.4. The senior management wants to the percentage of the project that is complete. What should
you report? (Answer the following questions)
i. How is Project CE performing? (In terms of Cost & Schedule Variance)
ii. Prepare a EVA graph (time; weeks vs. cost; PHP) – Planned, Actual & Earned
Value/Cost – with the assumption that the delay only incurred by the end of the 2 nd
week.
