III. PROBLEM PRESENTED
The client is suffering from financial hard-up. Hence, the client is in need of financial
assistance to support the needs of his family.
IV. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
A. THE CLIENT
Ranie is 40 years old, a father of two and a single parent for. He was born on
October 26, 1982 and currently living in Purok San Francisco, Barangay Libas, Tantangan, South
Cotabato. He is a hardworking father and has a small sari-sari store. He is a bread winner that
he sent not only his children but even his siblings in school. He provide alone all their daily
consumptions. He is strong person that being left behind by his wife does not hinders him to
give his family a comforting life.
B. THE FAMILY
The recent composition of Gloria’s family was recognized as extended family.
Ranies’s family has difficulty to provide daily needs and necessity. He said that he is trying his
best to support his family’s basic needs. He has two children: Kevin and Renver, both minor and
currently studying as a high school student and elementary pupil; the youngest was named as
Ressa, minor and a current elementary pupil. He has three siblings living with them in one roof:
all are single and the two siblings are currently studying as a college student. Therefore, the
wage earner in the family was only Ranie with an estimated monthly income of more or less
eight thousand and five hundred pesos only (4,000.00).
C. THE COMMUNITY
Libas is one of the barangays in municipality of Tantangan. Its population as
determined by 2020 Census, was 3,352. In purok San Francisco where the client situated was a
remote area. His house is made of light materials. They have their own electricity and their
source of water is deep well. Their house is surrounded of trees and beautiful flowers. They also
have small garden of vegetables and fruits. They are located in a far flung area, and neighbors

are distanced from each were away from barangay hall, school, stores, churches and health
centers.
V. ASSESSMENT
Ranie is suffering from financial hard up. He cannot sustain the needs of his family for he
has no stable job. He was separated from his wife for 20 years without getting any financial
support. His children and siblings are currently studying with difficulty in school miscellaneous
and allowances.
The client, Ranie shows great deal of strength in having been able to send and support
his children and siblings in school as a solo parent. He is a hardworking and supportive parent
and sibling. He is also a seasonal farm labourer, who does planting of rice. Despite of Ranie’s
capacity and effort, he understands that everything is not under of her control. He said
exhaustedly, how desperate he and his family to seek help for their financial needs. The poor
condition of the family left the client with no choice but to seek for the livelihood assistance in
monetary form.
Means for Ranie’s problem are available in the community and the change potential for
him is quite bright especially that South Cotabato has PSWDO and LGU-Tantangan with its
supportive services that can be tapped. The client, his two children and siblings are the priority
for interventive efforts. According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, at its first level, the
physiological which encompasses the basic yet self-preserving needs is a requirement for
human survival. That if it is unmet and or not satisfied, the human body cannot function
optimally.

VII. EVALUATION
Prior to his family composition (extended family), the client verbalize that they could no
longer sustain their daily needs.
Client is a sari-sari store owner, a seasonal farm laborer, and a solo parent. However, He
verbalized exhaustedly his situation of being a father of two and a bread winner to his three
siblings. The reason why the family is asking for financial and educational assistance is to help
them enhance their socio-economic well-being, hence this referral.
VIII. RECOMMENDATION
As assessed by the undersigned, client is highly recommended for financial and
educational assistance needed to help the socio-economic status of the family and to support
the education of her client’s children and siblings.

assistance to support the needs of her family.
IV. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
A. THE CLIENT
Rachel is 33 years old, a full-time mother of six and cohabitated to Ray Capalla.
She was born on April 27, 1989 and currently living in Purok Maidaiton, Barangay Libas,
Tantangan, South Cotabato. The client’s husband is a farmer. Rachel is sometimes a banana
vendor. She purchase banana directly from the owner and resell it to others. She is a
hardworking mother and a loving partner. She is responsible of doing household chores at the
same time, baby sits their children.
B. THE FAMILY
The recent composition of Rachel’s family was recognized as nuclear family.
Rachel’s family has difficulty to provide daily needs and necessity. She said that her husband is
trying his best to support their family’s basic needs. They have six children namely: The eldest
Kurt Axel, a minor and a current high school student. Kerstein and Krachel both minor and
elementary pupils. Kian and the twins Kyliegn and Kyliegh all minors and have not attended
school yet. The client has only seasonal income during purchase and resell of banana. The
client’s husband is a farmer. Therefore, the total estimated monthly income of the family is
more or less ten thousand pesos (10,000.00).
C. THE COMMUNITY
Libas is one of the barangays in municipality of Tantangan. Its population as determined
by 2020 Census, was 3,352. In purok Maidaitanon where the client situated is away from
municipal. The family’s house is rent-free and owned by relatives. They are sharer of electricity
and their source of water is from water vendo machine. Their house is surrounded of trees and

beautiful flowers. They are located in a far flung area, and neighbors are distanced from each
were away from barangay hall, school, stores, churches and health centers.
V. ASSESSMENT
Rachel is suffering from financial incapacity. She is a full-time mother of six with limited
access to income opportunities. She can only earn depending on the purchase and resell of
banana. She cannot sustain the needs of her family for she has no stable job. Her husband Ray
is a farmer and wage earner of the family but not enough to compensate the daily needs of the
family as they have six children with difficulty in school miscellaneous and allowances.
The client, Rachel shows great positivity and strength in having been able to send and
support her children in school as a housewife and part-timer. She is busy doing household
chores and attending her children. In addition, her husband, Ray is farmer and a good partner
for he is helping their family provide such basic needs. In spite of Rachel’s capacity and effort,
she understands that everything is not under of her control but to ask for help. The poor
condition of the family left the client with no choice but to seek for the livelihood assistance in
monetary form.
Resources for Rachel’s problem are available in the community and the change potential
for her is quite bright especially that South Cotabato has PSWDO and LGU-Tantangan with its
supportive services that can be tapped. She and her family are the priority for interventive
efforts. In accordance to Sociological Perspective on Poverty Theory, peoples’ social class
positions still influence open to them. A great life and opportunity for the household will be
given and obtained with the initiative of those who help.

A. THE CLIENT
Ryan is 29 years old, a father of two and single parent. He was born on June 19,
1993 and currently living in Purok Bagong Sikat, Barangay Bukay Pait, Tantangan, South
Cotabato. He is an elementary level and was not able to finish his study because of poverty.
Ryan is a construction worker and a farmer. He was left by his cohabitant after years of being
domestic helper in foreign country. The client is sweet, caring and responsible father for he can
do all the household chores in their house and baby sits his children. Given that all of his
children are toddler and new born who needs milk, he must labor extremely since his income is
minimal.
B. THE FAMILY
The recent composition of Ryan’s family was recognized as single-parent family. Ryan’s
family has difficulty to provide their daily needs and necessities. The client is trying his best to
provide his family’s basic needs. He has two children named; Gian and Ryan both minor and not
able to attend school yet. The client loves her children even they got separated with her wife.
C. THE COMMUNITY
Bukay Pait is one of the barangays in municipality of Tantangan. Its population as
determined by 2020 Census, was 4, 186. The house of the family is nearby from the Barangay
Hall and School. Their house is made up of light materials such as the wall of the house is made
up of corrugated bamboo. They have no electricity and their source of water is deep well
shared with their neighborhood their comfort room. They planted several vegetables in their
surrounding that contribute to their meal and sell them for their household expense. The family
finds it hard to avail governmental programs and opportunities such as TUPAD or any programs
and activities.
