Below you find a short but detailed 7-step-

manual for growing psilocybin containing
magic mushrooms with a stealthbox grow kit.
If you are too lazy to read everything, there is
a quick bullet-point-guide at the end of the
growkit manual. If you want to see pictures of
all the steps, wait for my next blog, which will
be a grow diary of my latest harvest! You will
find the blog here.

1. Get your Magic Mushroom Growkit

The first thing that you need to do obviously is:

getting your own stealthbox! Sirius o"ers several
di"erent strains of psilocybin mushroom growkits.

You can either buy them in one of our stores

(Maastricht / Roermond) or order them online
(check if stealthboxes can be delivered to your
country first!). Once you’ve received your stealthbox,
we recommend that you activate it as soon as
possible. If you need to wait, store it at a
temperature of 10 degrees Celsius until you can
activate it. Don’t wait too long, because our
stealthboxes are all fresh, and the longer you wait,
the more it can influence your harvest. 

2. Prepare yourself and your

surroundings

Before you activate your growkit, you want to be as

well prepared as possible. Some things you need
include:

Stealthbox growkit
Mushbag with 2 paperclips (included in the
stealthbox!) 
Heatmat & grating (see step 3.1)
Latex gloves; Disinfection spray (if possible:
isopropanol) 
Spray bottle
(Aluminum-) foil (see step 4.1)

You need to work in a clean and hygienic

surrounding. Every possible source of
contamination can worsen the conditions inside
your kit. Make sure to disinfect the space you want
to grow your mushrooms and wash your hands.
Wear latex gloves, bend your hairs together and
don’t wear fuzzy clothes. 

You should place the kit at a spot where it is warm,

preferably 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. It should
receive some daylight, but do not expose it to direct
sunlight! Otherwise, it will dry out. Make sure that
you are able to take care of the kit every day for the
next 2-3 weeks. 

3. Activate your stealthbox

When you activate your mushroom growkit for the

first time, you just need to take it out of the box,
open the lid, and place it inside the mushbag. 

Wash the lid with clean water, dry it, and keep it! You
will need it again later. Spray the inside of the
mushbag with tap water, but not too much! The
mushroom growkit itself should not get wet, only
the inside of the bag.

Let the bag open for a few minutes to make sure

some fresh air gets inside before you close it. To
close it, you just fold it a few times and attach the
paper clips. 

3.1. Heatmat and Grating

If you want to be 100% sure that you receive a big

yield, you should get a mushroom-heatmat. It
keeps the temperature below your growkit optimal,
making sure the mycelium can fully develop into big
juicy shrooms. Make sure to not directly place your
growkit on the heatmat, but use a grating, so air can
flow below the growkit and it doesn’t dry out. 

Sirius Tip: You can use filter tip booklets or empty

(cigarette-) paper packages for this! There is no
need for a large grating, as long as there is a tiny
gab between the growkit and the heatmat, so that
air can flow.

4. Take (good) care of your stealthbox

Now your kit is activated and will produce

mushrooms for you! But you still need to take some
care of it. Every day, you should open the bag for a
few minutes to let some fresh air inside. Then you
spray tap water on the inside of the bag (not too
much!) and close it again.

Remember to wear gloves and disinfect your

surroundings! If you see the first pinheads of
mushrooms, you can leave the bag open for a
longer time. This step usually takes 1 to 3 weeks.

4.1. (Aluminum-) foil

Check your kit regularly! It is possible that you notice

shrooms growing inside the mycelium cake on the
side of the box (so not on the surface). If that is the
case, you just need to put some (aluminum-) foil
around your growkit so that no light hits the outside
of the box. Make sure to only cover the side of the
box, not the bottom, so the heat below does not get
isolated from your kit. You can also do this in
preparation if you want to be extra sure! 

5. Wait for your magic mushrooms to

be ready

Eventually you will start to see the first shrooms

appearing on the surface of the growkit. You will be
surprised how fast they turn big! At this point, you
should carefully monitor how your shrooms grow
every few hours.

If you wait too long before you harvest them, the

mushrooms will produce spores which can
contaminate your kit. This is not bad for the
mushrooms, but it is less likely that your kit is now
able produce a second flush of mushrooms. 

6. Harvest your magic mushrooms

The day has finally come, and you can harvest your
shrooms! Put on some latex gloves and place the
growkit on a clean, disinfected surface. Lay out a
towel or some paper in a space where you can let
the mushrooms dry. It should be a warm, dry room,
and the place should not be exposed to direct
sunlight! This could reduce the potency of your
mushrooms.

Reach inside the mushbag and grab a bunch of

mushrooms. Carefully harvest them with a turning
movement of your hand (you don’t need any force;
the mushrooms are very light and will easily come
out if you turn your wrist!). Be really careful! This
determines how well your mycelium stays intact for
future harvests. Put the mushrooms on the
towel/paper you prepared and make sure they do
not touch each other.

6.1 Drying and storing your Magic

Mushrooms

If you want to make sure that your magic

mushrooms remain their potency for as long as
possible, you should properly dry them. 2-3 days are
usually enough. You can test whether your
mushrooms are dry enough if you bend them: if
they easily crack, producing a ‘snapping’ sound, they
are ready. If they are still bending and not breaking,
leave them.

When they are dried, you should put them in an air-

sealed glass, so they do not lose any of their
potency!

7. Reactivate your Magic Mushroom

Growkit

No, the fun is not over yet! When you complete the
harvesting process, you can activate your
mushroom growkit again! Just let some tap water
inside the kit, close it with the lid and put it in the
fridge for approximately 12 hours. When you open it
again, let the water out of the box, put the kit in the
mushbag, and repeat from step 4. 

Have fun growing! Before you consume your magic

mushrooms, you should inform yourself about the
possible (side) e"ects! Contact the Sirius customer
service or visit one of our stores! Have a nice trip!

Bullet-point-guide

Take the growkit out of the box, open it, wash the
lid and keep it for later
Place the growkit in the mushbag, spray some tap
water on the inside of the bag, fold it a few times
and close it with paperclips 
Place the mushbag with the growkit inside on the
heatmat (use a grating for air circulation!) in a warm
room (20-25C). Do not expose it to direct sunlight!
Open the mushbag to let fresh air inside and
spray some water on its inside every day
Wait until your mushrooms grow
Harvest your mushrooms before they produce
spores
Dry your mushrooms (not in direct sunlight!) for a
few days and store them in an air-sealed container
Reactivate your growkit by letting some tab water
in, closing it with the lid, and placing it aside for 12
hours. Then you can start all over again!
