 1. Overview & Installation
This document includes all the new/enhanced/fixed templates of “EcoStruxure Process Expert 2021”.
Installation procedure for exclusive EcoStruxure Process Expert 2021 users:
 No separate installation is required to utilize the facility of EcoStruxure Process Expert 2021 templates.

Installation procedure for users migrating to EcoStruxure Process Expert 2021:

 Separate installation is not required for Library Templates. Below are the family SBK files that are
delivered separately. User can import the template families from the location mentioned in the
EcoStruxure Process Expert Installation and Configuration Guide (Chapter 4, section 4.1, “Using
Templates Supplied with the EcoStruxure Process Expert Update” section).

3. Key Points
This section lists the key points from user information point of view.

3.1. Instance Configuration

 STAHL: Status Data Word would not exist for modules that have a version lower than “3x” (except
for the DIM16 module).

 For Time Stamping Templates, user is advised to use only “Both Edges” as the Time Stamping
property.

 STAHL templates expect an array format. Hence, the Read/Write length in Generic application
template should be configured as greater than or equal to 2.

3.2. Control Project Configuration

 User on updating instance of $TSDInput, $TSDInput8, $TSDInput16, $TSDInput32, $Bool16INO,
$INT8INO will have AISignalCond1/AISignalCondReal1/DISignalCond1 EFB always generated in the
project.

3.3. Communication/ Hardware Mapping

 While using M340 Special cards, user needs to verify that hardware mapping for each of the channels
is done only once. Due to a limitation in the platform, currently the user would be able to map multiple
channels to the same hardware mapping interface thereby resulting into inconsistencies later on.

 3.4. Migration
 To take advantage of the EcoStruxure Process Expert 2020 library features when updating the
configuration of a migrated system (for example, to add a controller of the M580 platform), User need
to import the latest templates provided with EcoStruxure Process Expert 2020 (Foundation.sbk).

3.5. Miscellaneous
 For multiple variants of TesysT profile (TesysTFast & TesysT), on Ethernet communication, there
swould be only one Hardware template applicable with the user parameter “IOSType” used for
selecting appropriate TesysT variant.

 In $DOSignal_UL, the “PLCHMIVar” parameter has been added. It enables setting the “HMI Variable”
attribute of the generated variable at the instance level. The default value is “False”.In the following
case, the addition of this parameter has an impact on your systems in which instances of an earlier
version of either template exist if you update the template used by these instances:
You have already assigned the facet of the instance to a Control project, generated it, and modified
the value of the “HMI Variable” attribute to “True” by refining the project. After the update of the
template (without modifying the default value of the “PLCHMIVar” parameter), generating the facet
again sets the value to “False”. To modify the value, use the “PLCHMIVar” parameter at the instance
level and generate the facet.
 In $Bool_UL, the “PLCHMIVar” parameter has been added. It enables setting the “HMI Variable”
attribute of the generated variable at the instance level. The default value is “True”.In the following

4. Impact of Template Update

When you update templates, systems in which these templates are used are affected. To help you assess
the impact of a template update, impacts are grouped in categories. Each template belongs to an impact
category.
