My sole purpose in applying is to be with my partner, Minta Thankam Mathew, and support
her during her studies in Canada. Ours is an arranged marriage. This marriage proposal was
devised by a family friend. Her family set a date and invited my family and me to meet her.
That was the first time we met. When I saw her, I felt a special pulse in my mind, and I had a
feeling she would be my life partner, and it happened exactly like that. That was the first time
we exchanged words. She liked me, and I liked her. As a result, the marriage decided upon by
both families was confirmed.
Our engagement took place on Saturday December 28, 2019, in the presence of our parents,
relatives, and friends, and our marriage took place on Monday January 6, 2020, at Bethel
Marthoma Church Karavaloor, Kollam, Kerala, according to traditional Christian rituals and
ceremonies. We've been living together with mutual love and respect ever since. She is a
wonderful wife who supports me in all aspects of my life. As a result, being apart from each
other is extremely difficult for us. We haven't been apart for three years because we used to
leave for the job in the morning and return in the evening.
Even after three months of marriage, the COVID-19 epidemic struck. It was a huge disaster
for the world, but we loved those times. We didn't have to go to work because of the
lockdown. So, we had some time to get to know and love one another. We shared household
activities and cooked together, and we formed a strong bond. My wife is currently pursuing a
postgraduate degree in financial technology at Conestoga College Guelph Campus. I am
delighted to join her and support her in any manner I can in Canada, using my knowledge and
abilities. I believe that by coming to Canada, I can give her the help she needs to succeed in
her career. I have been missing my wife, Minta, since she began studying in Canada.
As a loving and caring partner, I am always there for her in all aspects of her life, but it is
difficult for me to support her from afar. Apart from that, she has never gone anywhere alone
until now, either with her parents or with me, so she feels lonely by herself. Because of this,
I think she would greatly benefit from being with me. I would really like to accompany her to
Canada and provide her with the necessary physical, emotional, and financial support.
Aside from assisting my spouse, I am eager to work and contribute to the Canadian economy.
I have a Master’s Degree in Computer Applications (MCA). Besides it now, I have almost 5
years of experience as an Assistant Professor at Musaliar College of Arts and Science in
Pathanamthitta, Kerala, and 1.5 years of experience as a QA Analyst at Floret Technologies
and Twinsway Technologies Trivandrum.
I acknowledge that I have earned priceless skills, and I relish the prospect of using them to
help Canadian businesses and organizations. I certainly believe that I can find work in Canada
that makes use of my abilities and passions, which will allow me to contribute to the labour
force here. I'm a reliable employee with a good sense of accountability. I am looking forward
to finding out for myself that Canada is a diverse and welcoming nation recognised for its
outstanding standard of living.
Fortunately, we are in a financially stable position to afford Minta’s education during the
period. For the proof of fund, I have attached my family’s asset valuation report for a value
of CAD1,71,928 (@ 60 INR/ CAD) with immovable asset amounting to CAD 121,871 and
movable asset 50,056. I have also attached my wife’s GIC account receipt in CIBC Bank,
Canada which amounts to CAD 10,000. All this will suffice our initial cost of establishment and
living expenses for a few months as a family. Later, my employment can provide the financial
support we might need.
The asset valuation report depicts that I own assets worth CAD 171,928 (@ 60 INR/CAD),
need to take care of the properties. In addition, I am the one of the youngest sons of my
mother, it is my duty and responsibility to take care of them as they become older and I
would be responsible for managing my mother’s farming and agriculture as she gets older.
I wish to be close to them and fulfil my social obligation by providing financial and emotional
support to them. For us, family entails wrapping your arms around each other and being
present. I am also incredibly blessed to have childhood friends, extended families, and
relatives in Kerala with whom I have a special bond. I am confident that this international
certificate will assist my wife in establishing her dream career in my home country, and I
believe that studying in Canada will improve our prospects in India. Overall, returning to India
is essential for us to achieve our professional and personal objectives.
I understand that obtaining a spousal visa will allow me to work and reside in Canada for the
duration of my wife's studies. I am hoping to take advantage of this opportunity to work and
support my wife. I could assure you that after my wife’s studies I will leave the country at
the earliest. Furthermore, I am a responsible individual and am committed to following
Canadian laws and regulations. I believe that Canada will provide us with the stability and
opportunities we need to build a happy and successful life together for short term. Thus, I
request you approve my work permit application so that I will be able to assist my spouse
emotionally, morally, and financially during her PG diploma course at Conestoga College
Guelph Campus, Canada.
Warm Regards,
Tharun Thomas
