Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Ermias Tegegn and I am a 2019 graduate from the university of


Dire Dawa, Ethiopia with BS degree in computer science. I am writing to
request for consideration of the full scholarship admission that is provided at
your University. I consider myself to be a suitable candidate to secure an
admission for MS in business analytics and big data. I have completed the
enclosed application form and additional materials required by the university.

Starting from when I was very little, I was always intrigued by the endless
possibilities and power of computing machines in solving many issues we
face in our day to day life. That is why I was a member of ICT club at my
high school for three years and when I finally graduated there, I applied and
Joined the field of computer science at a local university.

At my undergraduate school, I dealt with the fundamentals of computation,


what can and cannot be computed, and how effectively a computation can be
carried out by a machine. I have researched how to create software that
functions flawlessly from many locations, how to model difficult issues, how
to create more effective computing techniques, and how to create machines
that can think and see.

We also had exposure to both fundamental research in the theory of


computation, computer networks, computer vision, data mining, software
engineering etc as well as projects with practical socioeconomic significance,
like developing systems to deliver pertinent information to farmers, and
creating solutions for rural mapping. My topic was on All in one service
provider for apartment users that allows residents easy access to utilities,
maintenance, and all other services available at our area to help fill the
significant gap we identified in my area during our research.

I was glad when I saw this scholarship program on your online page and am
eager to get the opportunity to further my skill sets in computer science by
attending one of the best universities in Germany for my Master in business
analytics and big data.
Since I have a strong academic background in Computer Science, I believe
that Master course in business analytics and big data perfectly suits my
profile and career prospects. It will significantly strengthen my resume and
credentials in my profession which will help build my career and will be able
to support my family. As a third world country citizen, my society will also
benefit from my services as my community will be in high demand of my
expertise.

Due to my financial situation I was not able to pursue my studies in my


country or abroad, since I am not in a position to pay for my studies. I am
currently living in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with annual income of 1100€ in a
rental house and have my mother whom I have to support financially. I have
been applying for better earning jobs but the field of my profession is
growing to be ever competitive and organizations usually require more than a
degree to hire.

Therefore; I will be very grateful to be chosen for the scholarship program


and guarantee you will not regret your decision to do so. The Knowledge and
skills gained on the studies at your school, I plan to transfer to my home
country, where I intend to work in public sector or at a University. I also
intend to serve my community with integrity and to the best of my abilities.

I consider this program as an ample opportunity for me to interact with


students and scholars from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds
coming from the entire World. This type of networking is very helpful to
integrate different ideas and points of views pertaining to diverse global
issues.

Finally; I would like to point out that I am determined to make the most out
of the scholarship program. I believe that being a student in your department
would not only empower my career development, but would give me the
framework to utilize my full potentials. Moreover, I feel that as a Masters
student at your University, I can benefit from the numerous challenging
career opportunities.
