III. PROCEDURES
Classroom Management: Kindly pick (Students will pick up the trash and
up the trash under your chair, if any, and arrange the chairs).
make sure that the chairs are properly
aligned
None Ma’am
Checking of Attendance: Class
secretary, who’s absent today?
Okay, very good!
Very Good!
C. Motivation
A. Tabular Method
Example 2. 1 2 3 4 5 6
H 1H 2H 3H 4H 5H 6H
Rolling a die and tossing a coin once T 1T 2T 3T 4T 5T 6T
simultaneously.
How many possible outcomes can we
make? None Ma’am.
Very Good!
Any questions on tabular method? 4 possible outcomes Ma’am
Head-Head, Head-Tail, Tail-Head,
Okay, let proceed to the next counting Tail-Tail
methods.
B. Tree Diagram
Example 3.
In tossing a coin twice, how many
possible outcomes are there?
What are those possible outcomes?
Correct. Below is a tree diagram that
shows the possible outcomes when a
coin is tossed two times.
It is a diagram used to show all the
possible outcomes in a probability
experiment. It consists of line
segments coming from a starting
point to the outcome point. All
possible outcomes are visually
represented by the branches.
Example 4.
Rolling a die once and tossing a coin
once.
(1, H), (1, T), (2, H), (2, T), (3, H),
(3, T), (4, H), (4, T), (5, H), (5, T),
(6, H), (6, T)
None Ma’am.
Based on the results, how many possible
outcomes when a die is rolled once, and
a coin is tossed once?
Example 5.
If I toss a coin three times, how many
possible outcomes are there? Will you
list the possible outcomes? S = {(Burger, Cake), (Burger,
Cheesecake), (Burger, Ice cream),
How many possible outcomes in tossing (Pasta, Cake), (Pasta,
a coin three times? Cheesecake), (Pasta, Ice cream),
(Pizza, Cake), (Pizza,
Example 6. Cheesecake), (Pizza, Ice cream)}
At a restaurant there are 3 options for
mains: Burger, Pasta and Pizza, and 3 There are 9 possible combinations.
options for dessert: Cake, Cheesecake
or Ice Cream.

Okay let’s try answering this situation.
Clarisse wanted to go to the shopping S =
mall. She was confused on what to wear.
In her wardrobe she found a gray (G)
and a black (B) jeans and a red (R), a
yellow (Y) and a white (W) shirts. Help
Clarisse choose her outfit matching her
available jeans and t-shirts using the {(G,R), (G, Y), (G,W), (B, R), (B, Y),
following methods. (B, W)
a. Tabular Method
b. Tree Diagram 2 pants
c. Systematic Listing 3 shirts
Clarisse have 6 different possible
choices of outfits.
IV. EVALUATION
Directions: On a one whole sheet of paper, answer the following.
1. Maria always brings with her a handkerchief and a face mask whenever she
goes out for an errand. If she has five handkerchiefs (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and four
face masks (blue, green, yellow, red), in how many ways can she pair her
handkerchiefs to her face masks? Observe how it is done using a Tabular
Method.
2. Erwin is a lifestyle and food vlogger. Whenever he goes for work to create
content for his channel, he will always bring with him a pair of spoon and fork.
Erwin has 4 spoons (1, 2, 3, 4) and 3 forks (A, B, C). Determine the number of
possible ways Erwin will bring his pair of spoon and fork whenever he works
by A. Tabular Method B. Tree Diagram C. Systematic Listing
V. ASSIGNMENT
Directions: On a one whole sheet of paper, answer the following.
1. At last, Marlita is permitted to work abroad. She carries a new luggage locked
with 3-digit number combinations. Excitement and anxiety filled her heart and
mind while on travel. When she reached her destination, she wanted to
freshen up, so she got her luggage and opened it. But she forgot the number
combination. She can only remember that it started with 8, no “0”, and that
digits are not repeated. With this in mind, she made several attempts to open
her luggage by making different number combinations but still failed to open it.
Help Marlita open her luggage by listing down all the possible combinations.
2. In tossing a coin thrice, how many possible outcomes are there? Used Tree
Diagram.
