This lab is designed to give you an opportunity to discover the ease of use of Maximo Mobile. In
this lab, you learn to :
• Perform an inspection
Important: These exercises are presented in a virtual lab format. A virtual lab is an interactive
simulation of the original virtual machines, containers, or mobile devices. A virtual lab is not an
actual virtual machine, container, or mobile device. Therefore, your interaction opportunities are
restricted to the exercise steps with some minor variance. You use this lab guide, which walks
you through usage and responses for the components that are taught.
You can run the virtual lab multiple times without restriction.

Scenario:
You are a Field Service Technician that works on pumps for an Oil company. Your company uses
Maximo Manage to automatically generate work orders from service requests. You have been
asked to test drive Maximo Mobile instead of your laptop or terminal to process work orders. The
goal is to determine if Maximo Mobile gives you more flexibility and efficiency in your normal work
flow.

9. To view the long description of the details, click the Long description icon.
The long description view opens and displays additional information including links that could
take you back to Maximo Monitor to see details of the anomaly.
What you have deciphered thus far is that the PUMPDEVICE005, located in the Massachusetts
site, triggered an alert within Maximo Monitor, which then automatically generated this work
order. This gives you enough information to know that you need to perform an inspection of
the asset.

You begin your physical inspection of the pump and go through the possible causes of what
could be causing the vibration and high noise. There is nothing in the skid that seems to be
causing instability, but you suspect that the O-ring may be worn out or deteriorated.
