EMS (Environment Management System) Walk-through

EMS (Environment Management System) Walk-through

• An Environmental Management Information System (EMIS) is an
information technology solution for tracking environmental data
for a company as part of overall environmental management
system
• From ISO14001:2015 helps an organization achieve the intended
outcomes of an environmental managements system which
includes:
• Enhancement of environmental performance
• Fulfilment of compliance obligations
• Achievement of environmental objectives
Product Introduction

HWG/Poseidon2 4002
• HW Group is a Czech dynamic technological company specializes
in development, manufacturing, and distribution of IoT, remote
monitoring and control solutions for wide range of segments
• IT environment monitoring (temperature, humidity, power, contacts, etc.)
• Data Centers (rack access, equipment monitoring, etc.)
• Industrial applications (warehouses, pharmaceutical industries, food
industries)
• Security applications (IP surveillance systems, serial printer replacement)
• Poseidon2 4002 is an EMS controller that can use to connect
multiple set of T/H sensors via 1-Wire and RS485 protocol,
provides digital dry contact inputs (DI) and allows control of a
relay output (DO)
• It is also designed to monitor and control sensors and digital I/O
over the network using secure M2M protocols (HTTPs, SNMP)
• Poseidon2 devices can be integrated in a wide range of
monitoring applications like SCADA, SNMP.

1. The SNMP tab allows to configure the settings for
communication with Poseidon2 using the SNMP
protocol.
2. If user want to integrate the Poseidon2, use the
address 161 as the SNMP default port with
community equal to the community assigned in
the SNMP communities
3. SNMP Port Listener port 162 is used for
integration with SNMP trap application and
destination
4. Poseidon2 is compatible with SNMP versions 1 &
3
5. Click Apply Changes to take effect
Controllers Menu Links

Poseidon2 4002 Menu Tab – Email Tab

1. The Email tab is where user can configure the
Poseidon2 to send out an email for any alert
activity.
2. User must provide the following in order the
Poseidon2 to work:
• SMTP Server
• SMTP Port
• Email Sender Address
• Authentication (if SMTP has)
• Server TLS if any
• Name/Password

destinations for the alert
4. Default periodic status setting can also be
configured
5. Click Apply Changes to take effect
Controllers Menu Links

Poseidon2 4002 Menu Tab – GSM Tab

1. By using an optional GSM gateway from HWG, the
Poseidon2 can be utilize to send out an alert using
the GSM SMS way
2. Enable the function as GSM Modem and click the
box under the Remote SMS gateway
3. Provide the IP address of the remote GSM remote
gateway
4. GSM SMS Interface should be set to Remote
5. Provide the list of mobile number of the users to
received the SMS from the Poseidon2.
6. Click Apply Changes to take effect
Controllers Menu Links

Poseidon2 4002 Menu Tab – GSM Tab

1. The sample email upon activation of the SMS
feature.
Controllers Menu Links

Poseidon2 4002 Menu Tab – Log & Time Tab

1. This tab let user to configure the date, time, and
the logging options (if supported by the particular
Poseidon2 model)
2. Current date should be in dd.mm.yyyy format
3. Current time will be in 24-hr format
4. Time sync is where user has their own SNTP
server where time can do synchronization
5. Device Logger is a configuration parameters for
logging values to buffer within the internal flash
memory.
6. Click Apply Changes to take effect

Poseidon2 4002 Menu Tab – Portal Tab

1. Portal tab configures with the portal using the
HWg-Push protocol. Poseidon2 is the active side
and the establishes the connection periodically
and/or whenever a change in a sensor value
exceeds and the configured AutoPush value
2. In this portion, the Poseidon2 can be able to
integrate with the SensDesk online application to
push the certain sensor value and threshold
whenever, and wherever.
3. Click Apply Changes to take effect
4. SensDesk (https://sensdesk.com) is an online
portal for LAN and GSM Sensors of HW Group.

Poseidon2 4002 Menu Tab – MQTT Tab

1. MQTT* used to connect Poseidon2 to an IoT
network using the MQTT protocol
2. It needs the following information such as:
• The IP address of the MQTT broker server
• The TCP port where the MQTT broker listens
• User name for logging into the MQTT broker
• Password for logging into the MQTT broker
• Secure SSL mode support when communicating with the
MQTT broker
• Client ID or device ID in the MQTT network
• And so on…
3. Click Apply Changes to take effect

Note: MQTT stands for Message Queueing Telemetry Transport. It is a lightweight messaging protocol for use in cases where clients need a small code footprint and are
connected to unreliable networks or networks with limited bandwidth resources. It is primarily used for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication or Internet of Things
types of connections. – (https://www.paessler.com/it-explained/mqtt)
