1. **Ensure that Hyper-V is installed and enabled:** Hyper-V is a feature available in Windows Pro,
Enterprise, and Education editions. If you don't have Hyper-V installed, you can enable it through the
"Turn Windows features on or off" option in the Control Panel.
- Open Hyper-V Manager by searching for it in the Start menu or using the Windows key + R and
entering "virtmgmt.msc."
- In Hyper-V Manager, right-click on your host machine in the left pane and select "New" > "Virtual
Machine."
- Enter a name for your virtual machine, and choose a location to store its files. Click "Next."
4. **Specify Generation:**
- Choose the generation for your virtual machine. For most modern operating systems, Generation
2 is recommended, as it provides more features and performance enhancements. Click "Next."
5. **Assign Memory:**
- Allocate the amount of memory (RAM) you want to assign to the virtual machine. Ensure it's an
appropriate amount for the guest operating system you'll be installing. Click "Next."
6. **Configure Networking:**
- Choose the networking option for your virtual machine. You can either use the default switch or
select a specific virtual switch if you've set one up. Click "Next."
- Select the disk size and location for the virtual hard disk. You can also choose to use an existing
virtual hard disk if you have one. Click "Next."
8. **Installation Options:**
- Select "Install an operating system from a bootable CD/DVD-ROM."
- Click "Image file (.iso)" and browse to the location of your .iso file.
- Click "Next."
- Review the settings for your virtual machine and click "Finish" to create it.
- In Hyper-V Manager, right-click on the newly created virtual machine and select "Connect" to
open the Virtual Machine Connection window.
- Click the "Start" button within the Virtual Machine Connection window to boot from the .iso file.
- The virtual machine will boot from the .iso file, and the guest operating system installation
process should begin. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the operating system.
Once the installation is complete, you can use the virtual machine just like a physical computer.
Remember to install the Integration Services/Tools (if available) for better performance and
integration between the host and guest operating systems.
