 This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
 Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
 Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
 Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
 Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
 Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with
sub-parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
 All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks,
2 Qs of 3 marks and 2 questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal
choice has been provided in the 2 marks questions of Section E

25. A child's game has 8 triangles of which 3 are blue and rest are red, and 10 squares of
which 6 are blue and rest are red. One piece is lost at random. Find the probability that
it is a (i) square (ii) triangle of red colour.

SECTION C
Section C consists of 6 questions of 3 marks each

26. (i) In the given figure, DEFG is a square and ∠BAC = 90°.
Show that FG2 = BG x FC .

28. A vessel is in the form of a hollow hemisphere mounted by a hollow cylinder. The
diameter of the hemisphere is 14 cm and the total height of the vessel is 13 cm. Find the
inner surface area of the vessel.

32. Two dice (one blue and one grey) are thrown at the same time.

(b) What is the probability that the sum of the two numbers appearing on the top
of the dice is 8 ?
(c) What is the probability that 5 will come up at least once?

33. (i) Two solid cones A and B are placed in a cylindrical tube of diameter 6cm and
length 21cm as shown in the figure. The ratio of their volumes are 2:1. Find the
heights and volume of cones. Also, find the volume of the remaining portion of
the cylinder.

(ii) Solid Spherical balls each of diameter 1.4 cm are dropped into a cylindrical
beaker containing water up to a height of 28cm and are fully submerged. The
diameter of the beaker is 5.6 cm. If the water in the beaker rises by 17.5 cm,
then find the number of balls dropped in it.

34. (i) If the roots of the equation (a 2+b 2) x 2− 2(ac + bd) x + (c 2+d 2) = 0 are equal,

SECTION E
Case study questions are compulsory

36.Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of a Gulmohar Society in Delhi have


installed three electric poles A, B and C in a society’s common park. Despite
these three poles, some parts of the park are still in dark. So, RWA decides to
have one more electric pole D in the park.

The park can be modelled as a coordinate systems given below.

On the basis of the above information, answer the following questions:

i. What is the position of the pole C ?


ii. What is the distance of the pole B from the corner O of the park ?
iii. Find the position of the fourth pole D so that four points A, B, C and D form a
parallelogram .
(or)
Find the point on the y axis which is equidistant from the points A and B
37.Tower cranes are a common fixture at any major construction site. They are pretty
hard to miss- they often rise hundreds of feet into the air and reach out just as far.
The construction crew uses the tower crane to lift steel, concrete, large tools like
acetylene torches and generators and a wide variety of other building materials.

A crane stands on a level ground . It is represented by a tower AB , of height 24 m


and a jib BR. The jib is of length 16m and can rotate in a vertical plane about B.
A vertical cable RS carries a load S. The diagram shows current position of the jib,
cable and load.

(i) What is the angle that the jib, BR, makes with the horizontal ?
(ii) What is the distance BS ?
(iii) Now the jib BR, has been rotated and the length RS is increased. The load
is now on the ground at a point 8m from A. what is the length of RS.

she decided to distribute fruits equally among all.

(i) How many maximum guests Lavanya can invite?


(ii) How many apples and bananas will each guest get ?
(iii) Lavanya decided to add 42 mangoes also. In this case how many maximum
guests Lavanya can invite ?
